Call For Papers

The 2011 IEEE International Systems Conference will be held at the beautiful Marirott Chateau Champlain in Montreal, Quebec, Canada

Marriott Chateau Champlain
1050 de la Gauchetiere West
Montreal, Quebec H3B 4C9 Canada
Tel: +1 514 878 9000 Fax: +1 514 878 6761 .

Conference Theme
The theme of the IEEE International Systems Conference is Engineering of Complex Systems, to include Systems-of-systems, Large-scale Systems Integration, and Systems Engineering and “Systems Thinking”.

Background
The IEEE Systems Council facilitates interactions among communities of interest on system-level problems and applications. System-level thinking is essential in the world today, not only for technical systems but also for society at large. The Systems Council addresses the discipline of systems engineering, including the issues and complexities of system-level and system-of-systems applications, focusing on the total systems effectiveness of complex integrated systems of major, national and global, significance.

Conference Objectives
This conference seeks to create an interactive forum for the advancement of the practice of system design, development, and management, across the multiple disciplines and specialty areas associated with the engineering of systems. The conference will provide a venue for systems engineering practitioners, managers, researchers, and educators to exchange innovative concepts, ideas, applications, and lessons learned addressing:

* Applications-oriented topics on large-scale systems and system-of-systems in topics noted below
* Systems engineering, education, standards, processes and methodologies for the system-of-systems environment
* Research opportunities and results relating to system-of-systems

Topic areas for consideration include:

* System architecture
* Engineering system-of-systems
* Risk management of complex systems
* Systems reliability
* Engineering Processes for complex systems
* Service Oriented Architecture
* Comprehensive Cyber Security approaches to System Engineering
* Enterprise System Engineering
* Agile Development Methods of System of Systems
* Systems engineering quality management
* Modeling & simulation
* Systems Verification and Validation
* Systems engineering education and training
* Program/Project management for system-of-systems
* “Systems thinking” benefits
* Technology transfer between academia and industry
* Societal and Political impacts of systems and systems design
* The impact of systems engineering on other engineering fields
* Systems considerations such as:
o Autonomous Systems
o Energy management & sustainability, including renewable energy
o Communications systems
o Medical systems
o Gaming and entertainment systems
o Transportation Systems
o Global Earth Observation
o Sensors integration and Application for a Net-centric environment
o Large-scale systems integration in any application area

Who Should Attend

As this conference addresses system-of-systems, systems engineering and systems of significant national and global impact, it will provide an informative, highly interactive and educational venue for systems engineering practitioners, managers, researchers, and educators to exchange valuable information and develop new synergies to address the complex issues and problems of complex systems and system-of-systems.
