The Organising and Scientific Committees invite abstract submissions for the 2nd Singapore International Public Health Conference and 11th Singapore Public Health & Occupational Medicine Conference (Conference) to be held from 29 – 30 September 2016 in Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel. This call for paper is open to all researchers and medical professionals (Singapore Citizens, Permanent Residents and Foreigners).
This is an excellent platform to have your work recognized by fellow healthcare experts in the respective fields. Outstanding abstracts will be shortlisted for Oral or Poster awards categories. Please read the preparation guide below prior to the submission process for the guidelines and rules that apply to the submission. A. Eligibility Requirements What is eligible for Submission: - Authors may only submit abstracts where they are the 1st or Presenting author. - Abstracts that are written based on single case reports will not be accepted - Submission based on a case series (at least 3 similar cases) illustrating or highlighting an important clinical aspect may be acceptable - Abstracts to be submitted must be either of: i. Original and unpublished works OR ii. Presented at other conferences but not published works - Submission of abstracts constitutes the authors’ consent to have their accepted abstracts to be presented during the Conference B. Abstract Categories The Conference accepts abstracts in the following categories: 1. Adolescent and child health 2. Ageing 3. Aviation and underwater medicine 4. Biostatistics and modeling 5. Cancer 6. Cardiovascular and metabolic diseases 7. Community-based interventions 8. Epidemiology 9. Eye-related disorders 10. Fitness and return to work 11. Health promotion / Behavior change 12. Health services research 13. Health systems and policy 14. Healthcare analytics and informatics 15. Infectious diseases 16. Mental health 17. Nutrition in public health 18. Occupational and environmental health 19. Program evaluation 20. Technology-assisted health and healthcare C. Abstract Submission Guidelines - Abstracts to be submitted in English - Only abstracts submitted via the online abstract submission portal will be accepted - Abstract Format i. The abstract body consisting of Purpose, Methods, Results and Conclusion ii. No tables / figures / images are to be included as part of the abstract iii. Each abstract will follow the format outlined below: Title: Title should highlight the primary concern of the abstract Purpose: Provide a brief description of the objective / hypothesis of the study / project Methods: Details of the experimental method(s) and process(es) employed in the study Results: Summary of the précised findings of the study. Promises of results “to be determined” are not acceptable Conclusion: Describe logically sound conclusions and reliable inference from the results - Abstract body (includes Purpose, Methods, Results and Conclusion) should NOT exceed 300 words - Each abstract can be submitted under up to TWO categories which are the most relevant to the topic of research - Authors may edit and modify submitted abstract until the submission deadline. No additional editing can be made after the stipulated deadline - There is no limit to the number of abstracts each author can submit - The submission system will generate an acknowledgement email, which will be sent to the Author’s address; if you do not receive the acknowledgement of receipt, kindly inform the secretariat immediately. D. Notification - Notification of acceptance or rejection of abstract will be made to the submitting author by 15 June 2016 via email - All accepted authors will be notified via email on the presentation details by July 2016 - All authors whose abstracts have been accepted need to register and settle their registration fees by 30 June 2016. Only those who have registered and paid their registration fees by then will be scheduled and included in the Final Program |
