IEEE UMITS 2016 ITALY
International Workshop on Urban Mobility & Intelligent Transportation Systems Towards the Operationalization of ITS Jun 27-30, Messina, Italy Co-located with the IEEE International Symposium on Computers and Communications (ISCC 2016) Web Site: http://www.umits-iscc2016.dcc.ufmg.br/ Submissions: https://edas.info/N22251 OVERVIEW UMITS 2016 provides a venue for discussing the latest scientific results and practical case studies on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and Vehicular Communications. The workshop is directed at both academic researchers and practicing engineers. In this edition we focus on planning and managing ITS and how to move the technology from the laboratories to the cities. The topics of interest have been carefully selected to provide a comprehensive overview of the most significant issues related to Planning & Managing ITS. Thorough comprehension of urban mobility enables the development of more realistic and sophisticated models for ITS. More sophisticated ITS models enable the development of better strategies for Planning & Managing ITS, which may allow new insights into the application of novel technologies such as Internet of Things, Clouds, Software Defined Networks, Big Data, and Social Networking. TOPICS OF INTEREST The topics of interest have been carefully selected for a comprehensive overview on the most significant issues on Planning & Managing ITS. Original contributions previously unpublished are solicited in relevant areas including (but not limited to) the following topics: PLANNING & MANAGING ITS - Network Management - Communication in ITS - Vehicular Networks - Experience Reports - Experimental Testbeds - Privacy, Authentication, Reputation for ITS MODELS FOR ITS - Algorithms for ITS - Analytic Formulations - Optimization Models - Probabilistic Approaches NOVEL TECHNOLOGIES FOR ITS - Clouds for ITS - SDN for ITS - Social Networks for ITS URBAN MOBILITY - Traffic Prediction - Mobility Models INTERDISCIPLINARY - Green ITS - Economic, Legal and Regulative Issues PAPER SUBMISSION All submissions must present original, unpublished research or experiences. Only original papers that have not been published elsewhere can be submitted. UMITS allows the submission of Regular Papers and Short Papers. Each Regular Paper must be accompanied by a 75- to 200-word abstract outlining scope and contributions. Regular Papers are limited to 6 pages (including references). On the other hand, Short Papers are accompanied by a 50- to 75-word abstract stating new or controversial ideas or presenting work in progress. Short Papers are limited to 4 pages. All submissions must be written in English in IEEE 2-column style. Authors should submit their papers via EDAS: https://edas.info/N22251 AWARD will be presented to the best UMITS paper. PROCEEDINGS Accepted papers will be included in the conference proceedings (IEEEXplore). IMPORTANT DATES - Paper submission: April, 20, 2016 - Notification of acceptance: May 7, 2016 - Final version of papers due: May 21, 2016 - Workshop date: June 27-30, 2016 |
