The first IEEE/IFIP International Workshop on Urban Mobility & Intelligent Transportation Systems (UMITS 2016) will be held in conjunction with the IEEE/IFIP Network Operations and Management Symposium (NOMS 2016) in Istanbul, Turkey, April 25-29, 2016. The workshop is sponsored by the IEEE Communications Society
UMITS 2016 provides a venue for discussing the latest scientific results, and practical case studies on Intelligent Transportation Systems and Vehicular Communications. The workshop is directed at both academic researchers and practicing engineers as it proposes the discussion of the next steps on the ITS research by combining both the state-of-the-art, and practical case studies into the same venue in order to discuss the next steps required from moving the existent technologies from laboratories to the streets. We are very proud of a high quality Technical Program Committee (TPC) congregating several of the most important researchers of the world, representing an unique opportunity for presenting your findings to leading researchers. Topics of Interest The topics of interest have been carefully selected for a comprehensive overview on the most significant issues on Planning & Managing ITS. A thorough comprehension of the urban mobility enables the development of more realistic-and-sophisticated models for ITS. More sophisticated ITS Models enable the development of better strategies for Planning & Managing ITS, which may allow new insights for the application of IoT, Clouds, and SDN for ITS. Complementary, Big Data and Social Networking represent a valuable source of management information for ITS. Original contributions previously unpublished are solicited in relevant areas including (but not limited to) the following topics: PLANNING & MANAGING ITS Network Management Communication in ITS Vehicular Networks Experience Reports Experimental Testbeds Privacy, Authentication, Reputation for ITS MODELS FOR ITS Algorithms for ITS Analytic Formulations Optimization Models Probabilistic Approaches NOVEL TECHNOLOGIES FOR ITS Clouds for ITS SDN for ITS Social Networks for ITS URBAN MOBILITY Traffic Prediction Mobility Models INTERDISCIPLINARY Green ITS Economic, Legal and Regulative Issues PAPER SUBMISSION All submissions must present original, unpublished research or experiences. Only original papers that have not been published elsewhere can be submitted. Each regular paper must be accompanied by a 75 to 200 words abstract outlining scope and contributions. Papers are limited to 6 pages (including references). On the other hand, a short paper (fast abstract) is a three-pages article accompanied by a 50 to 75 words abstract stating new or controversial ideas or presenting work in progress. All submissions must be written in English in IEEE 2-column style. For more detail and submission, please visit: http://umits-noms2016.dcc.ufmg.br/cfp.html |
