Raman College of Engineering, Bhubaneswar, India Sanjaya Kumar Panda, VSS University of Technology, Burla, India Devashree Tripathy, University of California, Riverside, USA Deepak Puthal, CSIRO, Sydney, Australia Siba Mishra, Indian Institute of Technology (ISM), Dhanbad, India Sushruta Mishra, C. V. Raman College of Engineering, Bhubaneswar, India Introduction ----------------- Scalable computing is the core of all complex scientific and business applications. It handles the massive growth of data by increasing the capacity of the system, network or storage. However, the main challenge is to extract valuable information and insights from this growing data. The resulting information is added to the existing information to make a valuable decision. Here, the scalable computing plays an important role for making such decision. Therefore, many researchers are finding cost-effective solutions for knowledge discovery by using scalable computing. Objective -------------- In this special issue, we are seeking new and unpublished work on scalable computing for knowledge discovery. Recommended Topics ------------------- Bioinformatics Business Intelligence Classification and Ranking Clustering Cluster, Grid and Cloud Computing Data Analytics Data Mining Data Preprocessing Data Visualization Distributed Computing Graphics Processing Unit Green Computing High Performance Computing High Throughput Computing Information Retrieval Interactive and Online Mining Knowledge Discovery in Databases Knowledge Retrieval Machine Learning Massively Parallel Systems Mining Text and Semi-structured Data Parallel Algorithms and Applications Parallel and Distributed Data Mining Probability Theory Quality Assessment Queuing Theory Recommender Systems Sequence Analysis Smart City Computing Software Development Statistical Methods Text Analysis Unconventional Computing Paradigms Volunteer Computing and Peer to Peer Computing Web-based Intelligence Monitoring and Analysis Web Mining Workflow Computing Submission Procedure -------------------------- Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit papers for this special theme issue on Scalable Computing for Knowledge Discovery on or before November 15th, 2016. All submissions must be original and should not be under review by another publication (N. B. Conference papers may only be submitted if the paper has been completely re-written and if appropriate written permissions have been obtained from any copyright holders of the original paper). INTERESTED AUTHORS SHOULD CONSULT THE JOURNAL’S GUIDELINES FOR MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSIONS at http://www.igi-global.com/publish/contributorresources/ before-you-write/.
