Call for Papers for IEEE Workshop on Big Data for Advanced Manufacturing
Please submit papers to the inaugural Big Data for Advanced Manufacturing Workshop (http://ieeebdam15.stanford.edu/), to be held at the 2015 IEEE Big Data Conference (http://cci.drexel.edu/bigdata/bigdata2015/). Papers are sought from researchers and practitioners in academia, industry, and government on advanced and innovative applications of data science to manufacturing, quality control, predictive maintenance, resource management, and customer engagement. The use of big data analytics in manufacturing is leading to new insights and knowledge discovery that is increasing productivity, improving quality, and reducing costs. This Workshop will be either October 29 or November 1, 2015, at the IEEE Big Data Conference in Santa Clara, CA, USA. Research topics of interest include (but are not limited to): • Data mining to improve efficiency, productivity, performance, and intelligence • Digital factory architecture including sensors, security, and the Internet of Things • Statistical and machine learning algorithms for product quality control • Machine vision and image processing • Predictive maintenance, prognostics, and health management • Field data collection and analysis of product performance and reliability • Production control, yield, scrap reduction, and continuous improvement This workshop accepts both short (up to 4-page IEEE 2-column format) and long (up to 10-page IEEE 2-column format) papers. Submissions can be done through the online submission system. The papers should be formatted to IEEE Computer Society Proceedings Manuscript Formatting Guidelines (http://www.ieee.org/conferences_events/conferences/publishing/templates.html). Paper should be in the PDF format. Authors should indicate their preference for oral or poster presentation. All papers accepted for the workshop will be included in the Workshop Proceedings published by the IEEE Computer Society Press. Key Dates • August 30, 2015: Due date for submission of papers • September 20, 2015: Notification of paper acceptance to authors • October 5, 2015: Camera-ready manuscripts due • October 29 or November 1, 2015: Workshop (Santa Clara, CA) For further information please contact any of the Program Chairs: Rumi Ghosh, Soundar Srinivasan, and Steve Eglash |
