CALL FOR PAPERS
********************************************************************** First International Joint Conference on Ambient Intelligence (AmI-10) November 10-12, 2010 - Malaga, Spain www.ami-10.org ********************************************************************** Ambient Intelligence (AmI) represents a vision of the future where we shall be surrounded by invisible technological means, sensitive and responsive to people and their behaviors, deliver advanced functions, services and experiences. AmI combines concepts of ubiquitous technology, intelligent systems and advanced user interfaces putting the humans in the center of technological developments. The AmI-10 conference brings together researchers and practitioners from industry and academia working in the field of technologies and applications of AmI. Authors are invited to submit manuscripts of original unpublished work in all areas related to AmI. We invite contributions of research papers, work in progress reports, R&D projects results, landscapes and industrial experiences describing significant advances in AmI including but not limited to the following areas: – objects, devices and environments that embody ambient intelligence – context models and context factors – sensing and reasoning technology – natural and multimodal interaction styles and user interfaces – advanced interface artifacts – ergonomics, interaction design and product prototyping – distributed software, systems, middleware and frameworks – analysis, design, prototyping, implementation and evaluation – interdisciplinary methods in all phases of research and development – security, privacy and trust – ambient intelligence services – business model and business cases – knowledge-based systems, computational intelligence – autonomic systems, multi-agent architectures and systems – adaptive architectures, symbiotic systems – industrial and commercial applications of ambient intelligence – configuration and control of ambient environments by end-users – user experience and user experience factors (e.g., acceptance) – ambient intelligence for special target groups – ambient intelligence applications (e.g., assisted living, future shopping) – artifacts in ambient intelligence environments (e.g., robots) – large scale ambient contexts (e.g., intelligent buildings, urban spaces, smart cities) – social media applications in ambient environments – societal implications of ambient intelligence – reflections on the current state and future of ambient intelligence Contributions are welcomed for the following conference tracks: – FULL PAPERS (10 pages) of original, high quality research contributions advancing the state of the art in AmI. Work reflecting various interdisciplinary aspects of AmI research with clear results. – SHORT PAPERS (5 pages) of results based on scientific evidence toward novel and valuable contributions in the field of AmI. Work in mature state and well positioned in the state of the art. – LANDSCAPES (5 pages) provide a forum for presenting ongoing work and new initiatives and activities, overviews of significant projects, test beds, organizations and laboratories in the field of AmI. – WORKSHOPS provide an opportunity to meet in the context of the conference and discuss emerging and future areas in a field of interests. Full day workshops (6 hours per day) and half-day workshops (3 hours per day). – POSTERS & DEMOS of ongoing work with a high potential to display and discuss with other conference participants. Poster submissions include a 4-page extended abstract laying out research approach, contributions and results. PUBLICATION AND SUBMISSIONS The conference proceedings will be published by Springer. Authors are invited to submit original papers, not previously submitted to other conferences or journals, of not more than 10 pages full papers and 5 pages short/landscape papers of single column text using single spaced following the Springer LNCS manuscript guidelines (http://www.springer.com/computer/lncs?SGWID=0-164-6-793341-0). Full and short paper submissions must be anonymised to facilitate blind review. Instructions of manuscripts preparation and paper submission can be found on the conference web site www.ami-10.org.
