Call For Papers

BOBCATSSS is an annual symposium with themes related to library and information science. The symposium is under the auspices of EUCLID (European Association for Library and Information Education and Research) and it is organized by students from at least two European universities.

The symposium aims for participant diversity by bringing together professionals, specialists and students from library and information science. We also welcome other students, researchers and professions with an interest in innovation, participation and design. Below you can see the topics and subtopics in which we are interested this year.

Our main topics in Bobcatsss 2015 are INNOVATION, DESIGN and PARTICIPATION.

INNOVATION

Memory institutions: new services, organizational innovations
Information accessibility: open access, metadata, ubiquity
Games: gamification, game learning, immersion, augmented reality
Internet: internet of things, online services and strategies, memetics
Technology: emerging technologies, technology forecasting, innovation leadership, intellectual property rights

DESIGN

Creative thinking: process, problem solving, prototyping
Interaction design: usability, user research, evaluation, human-computer interaction

Online communication: social network, digital identity, picture-based communication

SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS

Authors will submit their abstracts for all forms of participation. At the conference, accepted submissions will be presented as TALKS, POSTERS, PECHA KUCHA presentations or WORKSHOPS. To prepare your proposals please use the format guide below and submit your abstract using the conference management software (TakePlace) after registration at the address http://bit.ly/bcs-registration.

REQUIREMENTS FOR ABSTRACTS

The submission has to be in MS Word format (i.e. doc, docx) or OpenOffice format (i.e. odt) or pdf including:

* an author description (first name, surname, department, degree, university, city, country, e-mail)
* a title (optionaly a subtitle)
* three to six key words

The abstract should only contain plain text (no figures or tables). It should be 300-500 words, in Times New Roman, font size 12, spacing 1,5. Include your references and citations using APA style.

FORMS OF PRESENTATION

PAPERS: We are looking for original and innovative papers of relevance to Bobcatsss 2015. The length of the final full paper is limited to 8 pages at the maximum. Full texts of papers will be submitted from 27th October to 1st December. Papers will be presented by the authors at the conference.

POSTERS will be displayed and presented at the conference. The final presentation will be of 2 minutes length. The final posters will be submitted from 27th October to 1st December.

PECHA KUCHA is a presentation with following rules: 20 slides and 20 seconds for each of them (6 minutes and 40 seconds in total).

WORKSHOPS give the participants an opportunity to develop their skills in a more interactive and informal way. The final workshop will have 25-30 participants and the length of the workshop is limited to 90 minutes maximum.
