Call For Papers | |||||||||||||||
Recently, Information assurance and security have become an indispensable research avenue in networked and distributed information sharing environments. Finding effective and efficient ways to protect information systems, networks and sensitive data within the critical information infrastructure is challenging even with the most advanced technology, equipment and trained professionals. Intelligent techniques in information assurance and security have been widely and actively studied in the recent decades with a wide range of diversity of sources and these could offer many advantages in terms of usability, reliability, management, and user acceptance.
This workshop intents to bring together diversity of international researchers, experts and practitioners who are working in the area of information assurance, trust and security. We believe that this workshop will promote further co-operation between specialists of information assurance and security and other related disciplines. Furthermore, it will give interested researchers an opportunity to review the current state-of-art of the topic, exchange recent ideas, and explore promising new directions. Original papers are solicited from the authors with the expectation that the prospective papers are unpublished and present novel and innovative research contributions either from a methodological viewpoint or from an application perspective. The assessment criteria will be heavily weighted towards originality, potential impact and relevance to this workshop. All papers will be peer reviewed by at least two independent referees. The solicited topics of interest include, but not limited to, all aspects of Information Assurance & Security: • Information security management • Authentication and authorization • Data protection and privacy • Internet and web security • Intrusion detection • Data and system integrity • Digital rights management • Information warfare and cyber-terrorism • Security models and architectures • Risk analysis and risk management • Multimedia security • Cryptographic protocols • E-commerce protocols • Biometrics security and applications • Key management and recovery • Wireless and ad hoc network security • Database and system security Publication Name: Proceedings of the FIAS 2009 will be published by IEEE Computer Society Press, and will be made available to all conference registrants on site. All papers will also be electronically available through IEEE Xplore, and professionally indexed by INSPEC and EI.
