2015 Petroleum Engineering Symposium (PES’2015)
Chair: David Ogbe Theme: Upstream Oil and Gas: Key to Energy Security and Sustainable Development in Sub Sahara Africa Technical Conference to be held 12–14 October 2015 in Abuja, Nigeria. The Petroleum Engineering Symposium will provide a great learning, knowledge sharing and networking opportunity to audiences from oil and gas industry, academia, government, financial institutions, technology and oil servicing companies. This event will expand attendee's understanding of the issues surrounding energy security and sustainable development of the region’s upstream oil and gas resources. Leading experts will examine the opportunities and challenges facing resource development, technology deployment and research capacity building in sub-Sahara Africa . . Program Topics The main theme of the Symposium is Energy Security and Sustainable Development in Sub Sahara Africa The sub themes are: Resource base in sub-Sahara Africa, encompassing oil, gas, and unconventional resources Gas utilization and throttling the right mix of export-driven, value-adding and local utilization Impact of Shale oil and gas resources on Africa’s Economic Development Global energy demand and supply Role of emerging oil and gas producing countries in sub-Sahara Africa Resource development and the environment Production from conventional and unconventional reservoirs such as shales, tight rocks, and coal seams Innovative technology and applications to drilling, production and reservoir management Education of the next generation of petroleum engineers and geoscientists in sub-Sahara Africa Building research capacity and its impact on energy security in the region International Program Committee: David O.
