*** Second International Workshop on Engineering Cloud Applications & Services (EnCASE 2015) --- in conjunctions with IEEE SOCA 2015. ***
*** Call for Papers *** The cloud computing paradigm has reached a point of maturity reflected by both its penetration to the software market and the amount of available and ongoing research efforts. Its fundamental characteristics like rapid elasticity, resource pooling on different levels and charging in a utility-based model open new venues of research in engineering cloud applications and services. However, the impact of these characteristics on migrated or to-be migrated applications to the cloud, or on specifically designed for the cloud applications, remains mainly an open issue. The availability of different offerings in the service delivery model spectrum by the public cloud service providers, and the proliferation of private cloud solutions offer readily-available platforms for analysis, introduction of new concepts, and experimentation. Innovative engineering theories, methods and techniques are required for this purpose. The EnCASE workshop provides a venue for the presentation and discussion of such initiatives. More information at the workshop's web page: http://www.iaas.uni-stuttgart.de/EnCASE/ *** Topics *** The workshop addresses, but is not limited to the following topics: Engineering Cloud-native Applications Cloud-enabling Existing Applications and Solutions Approaches for Supporting Application, Data and Service Migration to the Cloud Legacy Application Modernization and Cloudification Migration and Interoperability between Cloud Providers and Deployment Models Performance Engineering for Cloud Applications and Services Cloud Data Management Cloud Security, Privacy, and Compliance Cloud Workload Profiling and Deployment Control QoS guarantees for Cloud Services Economic and Business Models for Cloud Applications and Services Cloud DevOps Deployment and Provisioning of Cloud Applications and Services Cloud Application Engineering in the Scientific and Enterprise Domain Cloud-based Big Data Applications and Services *** Organizers *** Vasilios Andrikopoulos, University of Stuttgart Elisabetta Di Nitto, Politecnico di Milano *** Program Committee *** Salima Benbernou Université Paris Descartes (France) Schahram Dustdar Technical University Vienna (Austria) Frank Leymann University of Stuttgart (Germany) Philipp Leitner University of Zurich (Switzerland) Kostas Magoutis University of Ioannina and FORTH-ICS (Greece) Clarissa Marquezan Huawei European Research Center (Germany) Andreas Menychtas National Technical University (Greece) Claus Pahl Dublin City University (Ireland) Dana Petcu West University of Timisoara (Romania) Ernesto Pimentel University of Malaga (Spain) Craig Sheridan FLEXIANT (UK) Steve Strauch University of Stuttgart (Germany) Stefan Tai TU Berlin (Germany) Jose Luis Vazquez-Poletti Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Spain) *** Submission *** The submission and review process will take place through the Easychair system.
