VNA’16
Vehicular Network Applications: From Physical Layer to Clouds IEEE ITSC 2016 workshop, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil VNA webpage: http://educ.jmu.edu/~eltawass/VNA16 Call for submission The workshop on Vehicular Networks Applications (VNA), is to discuss the issues concerning building applications on Vehicular Networks. Due to the recent decision by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to move forward with vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communications technology for light vehicles, vehicular ad-hoc networks (VANET) applications will receive more attention. Further, the new communications capability to be required in vehicles will provide the potential for significantly more smart vehicles application development. The workshop on Vehicular Networks Applications: From Physical to Cloud (VNA 2016) will bring together researchers on VANETs to present and discuss recent advances in the development of applications and related technologies. The workshop will cover all theoretical and practical aspects related to applications, modeling, simulation and testbeds. Topics of interest The workshop will cover VANET applications and related topics, including but not limited to: • Algorithms and protocols supporting application in VANETs • Traffic safety and efficiency applications • Telematics applications • Applications on Vehicular Cloud • Electric and hybrid vehicle applications • Smart city traffic related applications • Social networks vehicle applications • Highway applications • Environmental applications in VANETs • Security and privacy issues of VANETs applications Panel Discussion: Vehicular Networks Applications Panel Chair: Stephan Olariu (Old Dominion University, USA) Important Dates Paper submission: July 4th, 2016 Author notification: August 15th, 2016 Camera-ready version: August 29th, 2016 Workshop Code: u3k78 Workshop Chairs Samy El-Tawab (James Madison University, USA) M. Hossain Heydari (James Madison University, USA) Important: Workshop papers intended for inclusion in the ITSC2016 proceedings that’ll be available via the IEEE Xplore Digital Library have to: i- be submitted before July 4th, 2016; ii- undergo the formal review process, as regular and special session papers do, and be accepted; and iii- be finally submitted in requested format before August 29th, 2016. Workshop papers submitted solely for presentation, without publication concern, may not have to follow the above procedure subject to decision of workshop organizer. Detailed formatting guidelines and access to the submission portal can be found in the Submission page. |
