Call For Papers


The History Graduate Student Association (HGSA) at California State University, Fresno announces the 17th Annual History Graduate Student Symposium, which will be held on Saturday, April 25th, 2015 in Fresno, California.

HGSA is now accepting papers from graduate students in any field of historical inquiry, but especially those demonstrating innovative and/or interdisciplinary approaches.

Please submit a 100-word proposal and a current curriculum vita to HGSA at fresnostatehgsa@gmail.com by April 1st, 2015.

The keynote speaker at the symposium will be Joshua H. Nadel. Dr. Nadel is currently Assistant Professor at North Carolina Central University and the author of Futbol!: Why Soccer Matters in Latin America; his talk will focus on the history of soccer in Latin American history.

The 17th Annual History Graduate Student Symposium is sponsored by Associated Students, Inc., the College of Social Sciences, and the Department of History at California State University, Fresno.
