Call for Papers
The 27th annual Symposium of the Pattern Recognition Association of South Africa (PRASA) will be held in conjunction with the 9th Conference of Robotics and Mechatronics (RobMech) on 1 and 2 December 2016 at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Stellenbosch University (www.ee.sun.ac.za). The main conference will be preceded by a day of workshops/tutorials on 30 November 2016. For the PRASA Track, we invite you to submit original papers in any area related to pattern recognition, including but not limited to: - Classifiers and related topics - Speech processing - Natural language processing - Computer vision and image processing - Bioinformatics - Signal processing - Remote sensing - Artificial intelligence - Machine learning - Computational analytics - End-user applications and systems For the RobMech Track, any and all robotics and mechatronics topics will be considered, including but not limited to: - FMS Artificial Intelligence - Knowledge Based Systems - Information Technology Applied to Manufacturing - Computer-Aided Engineering - Education - Sensors and Applications - Robots and Automation - Lean Manufacturing Logistics - Modelling and Simulation - Scheduling - Rapid Prototyping - Management of Technology - Operations Management - Education and Training using Robotics - Agile Manufacturing - Mechatronics - Distributed Control Systems - Energy - Manufacturing Neural Networks - Mobile robotics - Mining robotics Submitted papers must follow the IEEE conference proceedings (templates available at http://www.ieee.org/web/publications/pubservices/confpub/AuthorTools/conferenceTemplates.html) and be submitted in PDF format. The following formats are invited in English, the official conference language: 1. Full papers reporting on original and unpublished research. 2. Work-in-progress papers reporting on on-going research or innovative ideas for future research, presented in order to generate feedback. Both contributions are limited to a minimum of four pages and a maximum of six pages, and only full papers will be published in the final proceedings. PLEASE NOTE: All papers will be submitted to a blind, peer-review process. The length of a presentation is 15-20 minutes, including questions and feedback. Detailed submission requirements are available on the conference website. Call for Workshops/Tutorials The main conference will be preceded by a day of workshops and tutorials on 30 November 2016. We invite you to submit proposals for full day and half day workshops and tutorials related to the conference theme. More information is available on the conference website.
