The Pacific-Rim Conference on Multimedia (PCM) is a major annual international conference organized as a forum for the dissemination of state-of-the-art technological advances and research results in the fields of theoretical, experimental, and applied multimedia analysis and processing. The conference calls for research papers reporting original investigation results and industrial-track papers reporting real-world multimedia applications and system development experiences. The conference also calls for special session proposals focusing on specific emerging challenges in the multimedia arena.

PCM2017 is the 18th conference of this highly successful and increasingly influential series. It will be held in Harbin, which is the most populous city in Northeast China heralded as the Ice City for its well-known winter tourism and recreations. The city has been voted "China Top Tourist City" by China National Tourism Administration in 2004 and was appointed a "City of Music" by the UN in 2010. PCM2017 is seeking high quality submissions in the broad field of multimedia. The topics of interests include, but are not limited to the following:
