Call for Papers of the Special Session SOCO15-SS01
Soft Computing Methods in Bioinformatics http://soco.usal.es/soco2015/sites/default/files/10/SOCO15-SS01.pdf to be held within the 10th International Conference on Soft Computing Models in Industrial and Environmental Applications (SOCO 2015) Burgos, Spain. 15th - 17th June, 2015 http://soco.usal.es ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- The amount of information from biological experiments and the applications involving large-scale high-throughput technologies are rapidly increasing nowadays. Soft computing algorithms are well-suited for many complex optimization and data mining problems from bioinformatics and computational biology including gene selection, clustering and classification, signal processing and image analysis. The scope of this special session covers the development of computational models and algorithms for bioinformatics data mining. This special session will highlight the applications of soft computing methods to a broad range of topics from bioinformatics. Topics Microarray and gene expression analysis Gene regulatory and ontology networks Protein and RNA structure prediction Analysis of large biological datasets Data integration and fusion Classification and clustering Feature selection Signal processing Text mining in molecular biology Gene regulation and transcriptomics Molecular docking and drug design Metabolic pathway analysis Image analysis in bioinformatics Computational proteomics Co-Chairs ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Camelia Chira, Technical University of Cluj-Napoca (Romania) Javier Sedano, Instituto Tecnológico de Castilla y León (Spain) José Ramón Villar, University of Oviedo (Spain) Emilio Corchado, University of Salamanca (Spain) Paper Submission ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Papers must be prepared according to Springer’s templates (MS Word or LaTeX format) for the Advances in Intelligent Systems and Computing volume series (http://www.springer.com/series/11156) and must be no more than ten (10) pages long, including figures and bibliography. Additional pages (over 10 pages) will be charged at 150 Euro each. In order to submit a paper, authors must register at SOCO 2015 conference management system (Easychair). All papers must be submitted in electronic format (PDF format, word document or latex and images). SUBMISSION SYSTEM: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=soco15 Important Dates ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Paper submission deadline: 7th February, 2015 Acceptance notification: 13th February, 2015 Submission of (tentatively accepted) revised papers: 3rd March, 2015 Final version submission: 13th March, 2015 Payment deadline: 13th March, 2015 Conference dates: 15th - 17th June, 2015 Proceedings (Tentative) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- SOCO'15 proceedings are to be published by Springer in a special volume of Advances in Intelligent Systems and Computing (Springer), indexed by ISI Proceedings, DBLP and Springerlink, among others. All submissions will be refereed by experts in the field based on originality, significance, quality and clarity.
