Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Institute of Education will be organising the International Conference on Education 2015 (ICE2015) on 2nd June 2015 - 4th June 2015.
ICE 2015 seeks to critically examine education in the 21st century that empowers students to lead meaningful and productive lives in all stages of their development and growth. This conference is a platform for educators and scholars to explore present practices and consider future directions so that education continues to be responsive to the needs of learners in changing times across diverse contexts. This conference will deliberate on a wide range of issues that covers the following sub-themes across levels of education including early childhood education, primary and secondary schooling, technical and vocational education, as well as tertiary education. Themes and Sub-Themes: 1. Educational leadership and management - Initiating Change - Developing frameworks for implementation - Standards and quality education - Sustaining best practice 2. 21st century curriculum frameworks, current trends and issues 3. 21st century teaching and learning - Innovative and creative pedagogies - Developing 21st century competencies - Technology and the use of digital resources 4. Assessment in 21st century education 5. 21st century teacher and professional education - Initial teacher preparation - Continuing professional development - Professional development for special educators, practitioner psychologists and counselors - Workplace education 6. 21st century community engagement in education - Pastoral care - Home-school engagement - Community outreach 7. The contexts of schooling in the 21st century - Innovative learning spaces - Health and safety school environments - Conducive and inspiring school environments Abstract Submission: Each abstract should not exceed 350 words. Submit your abstract to ice2015.shbie@ubd.edu.bn by 1st February 2015. Paper presentation (20 minutes) Research papers and case studies are welcomed for this category of presentation. Each paper will be allocated with 15 minutes of presentation time and 5 minutes of Q&A. The following types of papers are encouraged for submissions: a. Research papers Completed research papers in any of the themes listed above of related areas. b. Student Papers Research done by students in any of the strands listed above or related areas c. Case Studies Case studies in any if the themes listed above or related areas d. Work in Progress Reports or Proposals for Future Research Incomplete research or ideas for future research in order to generate discussion and feedback in any of the strands listed above or related areas e.
