====================== 2015 IEEE Signal Processing Society (SPS) Summer School on Biomedical Image Processing and Analysis (SSBIPA 2015) Dubrovnik, June 13-19, 2015 URL: https://sites.google.com/site/ssbipa2015/ E-mail: sven.loncaric@fer.hr DESCRIPTION The Summer School is organized by the University of Zagreb from June 13-19, 2015 in wonderful and unique Dubrovnik, Croatia, also known as "The Pearl of the Adriatic". In its heyday, it was a bustling, flourishing city protected by its mighty defensive walls. This unique medieval setting has been preserved and was inscribed on UNESCO World Heritage List in 1979. The main topic addressed by the seasonal school is biomedical image processing and analysis. The topics covered will include medical imaging techniques, image processing methods, image analysis methods, and applications to specific medical image analysis problems. The school is targeted towards doctoral students doing research in the area of biomedical image processing and analysis and practitioners in the area. The Summer School program will include a poster session giving students an opportunity to present and discuss their research results. Sarunic, Simon Fraser University, Canada Federico Sukno, Dublin City University, Ireland Michael Unser, EPFL, Lausanne, Switzerland ORGANIZER Prof. Sven Loncaric Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing University of Zagreb Croatia sven.loncaric@fer.hr REGISTRATION Fees for the SSBIPA 2015 are as follows: IEEE SPS member: 7750 HRK (~1000 EUR) for students, 10850 HRK (~1400 EUR) for non-students IEEE member: 9300 HRK (~1200 EUR) for students, 12400 HRK (~1600 EUR) for non-students Others: 10850 HRK (~1400 EUR) for students, 13950 HRK (~1800 EUR) for non-students Fees for participants include accommodation (7 nights), lectures, breakfast, lunches, welcome reception, coffee breaks, Wi-Fi Internet access, and social events (a sightseeing tour of Dubrovnik and a hiking trip to Mount Srdj). The fees are expressed and will be charged in Croatian currency HRK, the amounts in EUR are given for orientation. The deadline for application to the summer school is open until all available positions are filled. VENUE The venue is the Center for Advanced Academic Studies in Dubrovnik, which is located in a nice historical building managed by the University of Zagreb, Croatia. The Center is in vicinity (5 minutes walking distance) from the famous Dubrovnik Old Town (UNESCO World Heritage Site). The Center is a popular venue for organization of various international events such as workshops and summer schools. As a top tourist destination Dubrovnik has excellent connection with frequent flights from/to many countries in Europe and overseas. The airport is located approximately 20km from Dubrovnik and there is a regular airport shuttle bus to the center of Dubrovnik, so it is very easy to reach. ACCOMMODATION The Center for Advanced Academic Studies (CAAS) in Dubrovnik includes a well-maintained dormitory for guests, which is located in the same building. A pool of double rooms has been reserved for the summer school participants.
