Call for papers:
4th International Workshop on Decision Mining & Modeling for Business Processes (DeMiMoP16) in conjunction with BPM 2016, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 18-22 September 2016 More information: http://feb.kuleuven.be/demimop16 Workshop Theme The DeMiMoP’16 is the 4th edition of the workshop aiming at discovering and modeling decisions in combination with processes. The goals of this workshop include: * To examine the relationship between decisions and processes, including models not only to model the process, but also to model the decisions. * To enhance decision mining based on process data (e.g. event logs). * To examine decision goals, structures, and their connection with business processes, in order to find a good integration between decision modeling and process modeling. * To examine standards (DMN, BPMN) and their integration. * To study how different process models can be designed to fit a decision process, according to various optimization criteria, such as throughput time, use of resources, * To study the integration between declarative models (such as decision models, but also declarative process models) with traditional process models. * To show best practices in separating process and decision concerns. Rationale Most processes and business process models incorporate decisions of some kind. Decisions are typically based upon a number of business (decision) rules that describe the premises and possible outcomes of a specific situation. Business decisions are important, but are often hidden in process flows, process activities, logs or in the head of employees, so that they need to be discovered and modeled using state-of-art intelligent techniques. In a number of cases, a particular business process does not just contain decisions, but the entire process is about making a decision. Separating rules and decisions from the process simplifies the process model (separation of concerns). Using this workshop we try to increase the integration between different modeling perspectives. This is the fourth edition of the workshop. For the previous edition, see http://feb.kuleuven.be/demimop15 Topics of interest Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: - (Declarative) decision modeling and DMN * Decision rules and processes * Decision models and structures - Declarative and hybrid (process modeling) approaches * Declarative process models * Process metrics * Process maintenance and flexibility * Human-centered and flexible processes - Decision and rule mining (including declarative and hybrid mining) * Decision mining * Data mining, rule mining, process mining - Decision, rule and process integration * Goal driven processes * Case studies Organizers: * Prof. dr. Jan Vanthienen (Department of Management Informatics, KU Leuven, Belgium) * Prof. dr. Hajo Reijers (Department of Computer Science, VU, Amsterdam, The Netherlands) * Dr. Claudio Di Ciccio (Institute for Information Business, Vienna University of Economics and Business, Austria) Submission Only papers in English will be accepted and must present original research contributions not concurrently submitted elsewhere. The length of a paper must not exceed 12 pages. Authors are requested to prepare submissions according to Springer’s LNCS formatting guidelines (http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html). The title page must contain a short abstract and a list of keywords, preferably using the list of topics given above. Papers should be submitted electronically to https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=demimop16. Each manuscript will be reviewed by at least three program committee members guaranteeing that only papers presenting high quality work and innovative research in areas relevant to the workshop theme will be accepted. All accepted papers will appear in the workshop proceedings published by Springer in the Lecture Notes in Business Information Processing (LNBIP) series. There will be a single LNBIP volume dedicated to the proceedings of all BPM workshops. Accepted papers imply that at least one of the authors will register for the BPM 2016 conference and present the paper at the DeMiMoP16 workshop. Important Dates - 06 June 2016: Workshop paper submission deadline [EXTENDED] - 04 July 2016: notification of acceptance - 18 July 2016: camera-ready final submission - 19 September 2016: Workshop day Program Committee * Bart Baesens (Department of Management Informatics, KU Leuven) * Fernanda Baião (Universidade Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro). * Josep Carmona (Facultat d'Informatica de Barcelona FIB) * Guoqing Chen (School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University, Beijing) * Johannes De Smedt (Department of Management Informatics, KU Leuven) * Jochen De Weerdt (Department of Management Informatics, KU Leuven) * Robert Golan (DBmind Technologies Inc.) * Xunhua Guo (School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University, Beijing) * Jae-Yoon Jung (Kyung Hee University, South Korea) * Dimitris Karagiannis (Faculty of Computer Science , University of Vienna) * Ricardo M.
