Call for papers on Special Issue
JOURNAL: IT Convergence Practice Journal (INPRA) Special Issue: Semantic Web and Data Mining for Knowledge Convergence Services Motivation As the knowledge age advances, the need for convergence of techniques and models to enable the development of new knowledge-based products and services is increasingly evident. Two of the technologies that can contribute most in this regard are Semantic Web and Data Mining. On the one hand, Semantic Web helps the development of models that enable the sharing of knowledge between machines and allows them to understand the information they are processing and even to reason about it. On the other hand, Data Mining allows the analysis of information in search of patterns. Combining both techniques it is possible to approach the construction of models and/or applications capable of extracting useful knowledge from a society that is heading towards total digitalization and putting that knowledge into a format that can be processed by computers, so that it can be used to increase the use and value of such extracted knowledge. We encourage authors to submit manuscripts on the convergence of Semantic Web and Data Mining to address the development or improvement of knowledge-based services. Where possible the papers should bring together knowledge from both scientific areas to provide insights at the convergence between these disciplines. Topics The Special Issue is devoted to the use of Semantic Web and Data Mining for Knowledge Convergence Services. We offer an opportunity for researchers and practitioners to identify new promising research directions as well as to publish recent advances in this area. The scope of this issue includes, but is not limited, to the following topics: • Development of knowledge-based services based on Semantic Web and Data Mining • Semantic Web Mining • Detection and prevention of fraud/data breaches • Service Mining in Marketing, CRM and Business Intelligence • Application of Semantic Web and Data Mining in Social Networks • Intelligent services based on Semantic Web and Data Mining technologies • Big Data & Semantic Web + Data Mining • Deep learning for image and video analysis • Visual patterns with semantic evaluation and scene understanding Submission Guideline All submissions to IT Convergence Practice must be made using the online submission system supported by the Easychair system. The submissions will be assigned to at least two independent referees who have professional backgrounds in the related subject area. Instructions for manuscript format and submission are available at http://inpra.yolasite.com/submission.php Please note that papers accepted for this Special Issue will be free of publication charge.
