Call For Papers

Special Issue - Call for Papers
Journal of Safety Engineering

Submission deadline: February 27, 2015

Scope and purposes

Advances in vehicular technology and demands for safer transportation present more challenges now than ever. In the USA alone, accidents accounted for more than $300 billion in damaged property, more than 2 million nonfatal injuries, and almost 50,00 deaths annually. There has been shared consensus among researchers and governments that those figures can be brought down by applying modern safety applications. Applications like Cooperative Intersection Collision Avoidance Systems (CICASs), safe lane change, and autonomous auto-drive have captured the attention of researchers and provide solid platform to evaluate and compare different performance enhancement approaches.

Topics of primary interest include, but are not limited to:

• Localization techniques
• Absolute and relative positioning
• Experimental test beds and simulations
• Network configurations and architectures
• Internetwork coexistence and interoperability
• High-speed mobility management
• Data sensing and probing
• MAC, routing, and analysis
• Congestion control and cooperative approaches
• Context-awareness approaches
• Channel measurement and modeling (I2V, V2V, and in-vehicle)
• PHY layer and multiple radio integration and control
• Quality of service delivery
• Security and privacy issues
• Safety and non-safety applications
