About the Conference
Teaching Matters is celebrating its thirteenth annual interdisciplinary conference in 2015 at Gordon State College on its main campus (Barnesville, Georgia). This year's theme is Celebrating Creativity in the Classroom; and presentations/discussions will focus on innovative and creative pedagogical methods, approaches to various texts and/or concepts, and theories. The conference is open to all of those who have a passion for pedagogy; conference presentations are designed so that educators can share ideas and strategies that promote student success, student engagement, and active learning. Call for Proposals We are soliciting proposals across disciplines that focus on innovative ways to reach our 21st-century students (including traditional, online, returning, and hybrid students) and create a learning environment where they can thrive. Avenues could include teaching techniques, specific approaches and/or specific materials, discipline approaches, theoretical perspectives, demonstrations on various technologies as modes or tools for educating, as well as how to effectively counter common challenges in the classroom. Download the proposal form on our website and submit it via email to TeachingMatters@gordonstate.edu by February 16th, 2015. |
