CALL FOR PAPERS ACM PIKM 2013 Sixth Workshop for Ph.D. Students in Information and Knowledge Management at ACM CIKM 2013, San Francisco, California, USA http://www.mpi-inf.mpg.de/pikm2013/ In conjunction with the ACM Conference on Information and Knowledge Management ACM CIKM 2013, San Francisco, USA, October 27 - November 1, 2013, San Francisco, California, USA IMPORTANT DATES *Papers Due - July 21, 2013 at 23:55 Samoa time *Submission site - http://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=acmpikm2013 *Notification of Acceptance - August 05, 2013 *Camera-ready papers - August 11, 2013 *Workshop - November 1, 2013 with the ACM CIKM 2013 Conference, San Francisco, California, USA THEME The goal of this workshop is to encourage Ph.D. students or Master students to present their dissertation proposals at a relatively early stage. The targeted students are those with a focus in any of the ACM CIKM research tracks, i.e., databases, information retrieval or knowledge management. Interdisciplinary work across the three tracks is particularly encouraged. This workshop will give students an opportunity to get feedback on their early work from researchers worldwide. Accepted papers will be published in ACM CIKM workshops proceedings. The students of the accepted papers will make an oral or poster presentation on their dissertation at the workshop. This will give considerable recognition to their work. There will be an award for the best paper in the workshop. A short article serving as a workshop report is likely to be published in the following year based on the contents of PIKM 2013 in a suitable venue such as SIGMOD Record, SIGKDD Explorations or SIGIR Forum where previous PIKM workshop reports have appeared. SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS A wide range of proposal papers on any area in databases, information retrieval and knowledge management can be presented at this workshop. The areas of interest are similar to those at the ACM CIKM 2013 main conference and can be found on the conference website http://www.cikm2013.org/ Submissions should be at most 8 pages long, and formatted according to the same guidelines as main conference ACM CIKM 2013 papers. The Ph.D. student should be the first author on the paper. The student's Ph.D. advisor, committee members and others may be co-authors. Please note that at least one author of each accepted paper is required to register for the PIKM workshop before the camera-ready deadline.
