CALL FOR PAPERS ================================================================================ FUTURE GENERATION COMPUTER SYSTEMS Special Issue on Cloud Incident Management and Disaster Recovery http://goo.gl/AhQTPn ================================================================================ EXPECTED DATES SCHEDULE (IMPORTANT DATES) Submission deadline: October 30th, 2015 Notification of acceptance: July 30th, 2016 Final version due: August 30th, 2016 Expected publishing date: October 30th, 2016 SCOPE AND OBJECTIVE The ongoing adoption of Cloud Computing has lead to an increase in the level of complexity of the existing services and inherently higher risks for companies willing to migrate in order to benefit from this new paradigm. These risks could arise from deviations from the normal operation that could lead to a reduction or interruption of the QoS, service shortages, or incidents. Cloud Incident Management, as a novel research direction, is addressing specific issues that are related to cloud services, bringing under the same umbrella relevant topics including cloud management automation, SLA and QoS management (and specifically management of SLA incidents), Cloud forensics and targeting the resolution of deviations from normal operations. A major goal of this special issue is to explore the challenges and opportunities that exist in relation with hot topics in cloud incident management and cloud forensics, in order to meet the needs of modern cloud applications, and to encourage the submission of ongoing work with already important theoretical and practical results, as well as position papers and case studies of existing verification projects to highlight the art in this domain. TOPICS OF INTEREST This special issue calls for original papers describing the latest research and innovations, solutions and developments on Cloud Incident Management as well as related topics like QoS and SLAs, Disaster Recovery, Cloud Standards etc. The following is a non-exhaustive list of topics in focus of this special issue: - Cloud incident management architectures, workflows and automated handling processes; - Techniques and algorithms for cloud incident detection and classification; - Intrusion and anomaly detection and prevention - Root cause analysis in cloud computing; - Engineering of self-healing cloud autonomic systems; - Resilient service provisioning in cloud computing; - Cloud forensic investigations, electronic discovery (eDiscovery); - Audit, security, privacy, and compliance management for cloud computing; - Cloud quality management and service level agreement (SLA); - Disaster recovery in cloud computing; - Critical infrastructure protection; - Cloud configuration, performance, and capacity management; - Novel fault-tolerance techniques and implementations of emerging software technologies; - Incident management integration within the cloud service lifecycle - Analysis of cloud anti-patterns for incident avoidance - Standards, practices and processes for the handling of cloud incidents GUEST EDITORS Victor Ion Munteanu, PhD (managing editor) West University of Timișoara, Romania and Zurich University of Applied Sciences, Switzerland vmunteanu@info.uvt.ro Assoc.
