Call For Papers | |||||||||||||||
The goal of this workshop is to discuss the problems hindering the widespread adoption of smart medical devices - software based, wireless, implantable and wearable. Many brilliant ideas remain at the level of the proof of concept and never reach the market or the clinical practice.
We focus on high-safety health monitoring and life saving devices. We are especially interested in aggregated devices where a set of wireless sensors and actuators connects to an aggregator (smartphone) that communicates with a remote support entity (hospital). Interoperability is the main challenge, but also ensuring continuous service, instructing and supporting the patients. Such devices rapidly evolve and function in a variable environment, with numerous humans in the loop. This makes classical randomized control trials impracticable and calls for continuous quality monitoring. Due to the interdisciplinary nature of the problems, we would like to gather a balanced group of device developers, system integrators and clinical practitioners and provide them a convenient forum for discussion and exchange. Publications: All accepted papers will be published in a special section of the conference proceedings book - under an ISBN reference and on CD-ROM support. All papers presented at the conference venue will be available at the SCITEPRESS Digital Library (http://www.scitepress.org/DigitalLibrary/). SCITEPRESS is a member of CrossRef (http://www.crossref.org/) and every paper is given a DOI (Digital Object Identifier). |
