The next RE Conference, the 25th IEEE International Requirements
Engineering Conference (RE'17), will be held in Lisbon, Portugal, from the 4th to the 8th of September, 2017. http://re2017.org/ The whole RE'17 team and Ana and Joao as General Co-Chairs, Barbara and Jane as Program Co-Chairs and Michael and Walid as Industry Track Co-Chairs are extending a sincere invitation to you to participate in and contribute to RE'17. RE'17 follows the theme: "Desperately Seeking Less": The Role of Simplicity and Complementarity in Requirements RE'17 will offer an extensive program of interest to academia, government and industry. It will include several distinguished keynote speakers and three conference days filled with research and industry papers, panels, posters, and demonstrations. We introduce a new Data Track: industry-relevant challenges will be posed and industrial artifacts, consisting of requirements, models and specifications, will be provided so that researchers can apply their techniques to these artifacts. The conference will also feature a series of exciting tutorials to develop skills in and advance awareness of RE practices of particular interest to industry. It will include two days of workshops and a doctoral symposium to offer forums for participants to present cutting-age techniques and approaches in particular fields. *************************************************************** IMPORTANT DATES (http://re2017.org/pages/submission/key_dates/): Feb 10th: Research and Industry Track Paper Abstracts Feb 17th: Research and Industry Track Full Papers Mar 06th: Data Track Paper Abstracts Feb 13th: Data Track Full Papers Feb 24th: RE!Next Paper Abstracts Mar 03rd: RE!Next Full Papers Jan 30th: Workshop Proposals Mar 17th: Tutorial Proposals Apr 20th: Poster and Tool Demos Apr 20th: Doctoral Symposium Full Papers *************************************************************** Why not take a few moments to look at the website: http://re2017.org/ and the calls and give serious consideration to making a contribution? CALL FOR PAPERS RE'17 invites original submissions of Research papers, RE@Next! papers, Industry papers, and Data Track papers in all areas of RE including elicitation, specification, modeling, analysis, verification and evolution. Categories of Research papers include Technical Solution papers that describe and validate better solutions to requirements-related problems, Scientific Evaluation papers that evaluate existing problem situations, real-world artifacts or proposed solutions by scientific means, and Perspective papers that explore successes and challenges of requirements practices and research agendas or present research roadmaps, possibly derived from a literature review. RE@Next! papers are short communications that describe the current status of ongoing research. Industry papers report on the application of RE techniques in real-world settings, present problems or challenges encountered in practice and report on innovative approaches to RE practice in industrial or government settings. Data track papers are described above. RE'17 welcomes submissions also for workshops, tutorials, panels, interactive events, poster, tool demos and the doctoral symposium. Submissions: http://re2017.org/pages/submission/submit/ Authors of selected papers will be invited to submit extended article versions to a special issue of the Requirements Engineering Journal.
