Call for Papers
The GEOINFO series (Brazilian Symposium on Geoinformatics) is an annual conference for exploring ongoing research, development and innovative applications on geographic information science and related areas. Papers should describe original research. Ongoing or recently completed works are welcome. All the submissions will be reviewed by an international scientific committee. Special edition in Journal Selected full papers will be published in a special edition of the Brazilian Journal of Cartography (RBC). RBC is a traditional open access journal that have been published six times a year, for more than 40 years. It is sponsored by the Brazilian Society of Cartography, Geodesy, Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (SBC), focusing on Cartography, Remote Sensing, Photogrammetry, Geodesy, and related areas. More about RBC at http://www.lsie.unb.br/rbc/index.php/rbc. Authors of other selected full papers will be invited to submit an extended version to the Journal of Information and Data Management (JIDM). JIDM is an electronic journal that is published three times a year. It is sponsored by the Brazilian Computer Society (SBC), focusing on information and data management in large repositories and document collections. It relates to different areas of Computer Science, including databases, information retrieval, digital libraries, knowledge discovery, data mining and geographical information systems. More about JIDM at https://seer.lcc.ufmg.br/index.php/jidm/. Important Dates Abstract submission deadline: August 10, 2015 Paper submission deadline: August 17, 2015 Notification of acceptance: September 30, 2015 Camera-ready version: October 22, 2015 Topics GEOINFO invites research submissions on topics related to geoinformatics. Suggested topics include (but are not limited to): Spatial and spatiotemporal databases Spatial and spatiotemporal data models and modeling Spatial and spatiotemporal data infrastructures Spatial and spatiotemporal data mining Spatial and spatiotemporal data warehouses Spatial and spatiotemporal data fusion Spatial, spatiotemporal and multidimensional access methods Spatiotemporal query processing and optimization Spatial analysis and spatial statistics Spatial metadata GIS digital libraries Multiple representations in spatial databases Geocoding Ontologies for spatial information Interoperability and standards in GIS Mobile and distributed geographic information services GIS and the Internet Computational geometry Visualization in GIS Visual analytics of spatial and spatiotemporal data Virtual reality and 3D GIS Digital cartography Geostatistics Moving objects data analysis Dynamic modeling and GIS applications of cellular automata Mapping and remote sensing Remote sensing and GIS integration Remote Sensing image analysis Content based image query Quality control and error propagation in GIS Crowdsourcing and curation of spatial and spatiotemporal data Spatial systems for decision support Innovative applications of geotechnologies Paper Format GEOINFO 2015 will accept two types of articles: Full papers: should present completed research projects or completed stages of ongoing projects, consisting of up to 12 pages, in English. Short papers: can present work in progress, consisting of up to 6 pages, in English (preferably), or Portuguese. Full and short papers should be submitted in PDF format, made in accordance with the SBC guidelines (download templates and guidelines here). Templates are available for OpenOffice, MS-Word, or LaTeX, along with instructions for preparing the papers. |
