4th International Symposium on Pervasive Computing Paradigms for Mental Health - MindCare 2014
Call for Papers Scope MindCare 2014 will bring together top researchers and practitioners from various technological, medical and psychological disciplines focused on maintaining and/or improving mental health. Technological advancements have radically changed the ways of acquiring new information about individuals’ mental wellbeing, aiming to improve diagnosis, to provide support to both healthy subjects and patients, to afford higher quality of their life and to extend theoretical knowledge. In this regard, we are soliciting high-quality papers in the following topics (but not limited to): Sensing and data processing - Wearable computing - Smart environments - Biomedical devices - Combined sensing systems and infrastructures - Computer-enhanced self reporting - Machine learning and data mining methods User experience - Novel interfaces - Usability studies - Visualizations - Augmented reality - Virtual reality approaches Applications - Mental wellbeing support - Stress / Emotional response analysis - Affective computing - Serious games for mental health - Cognitive stimulation - Life-logging methods - Monitoring activities relevant to mental health - Treatment of mental disorders - Systems to support patients and / or caregivers - Using technology to improve the understanding of cognitive processes - Mental health promotion and disorders prevention Paper Submission Authors are invited to submit papers in the following categories: - Regular papers: up to 10 pages - Short papers: up to 6 pages - Poster paper: up to 3 pages Please refer to http://mindcaresymposium.org/show/initial-submission for submission details and templates. All the submissions will be reviewed anonymously by at least three expert reviewers. Papers will be judged on originality, correctness, clarity and relevance. Submitted papers must be original work, and may not be under consideration for another conference or journal. Publication The accepted papers will be published in Springer's LNICST series and will appear in the SpringerLink - one of the largest digital online libraries which covers a myriad of scientific disciplines. In addition, the accepted papers will be available in EU digital library (EUDL) and indexed in Scopus and EI as well as submitted for indexing in ISI Proceedings.
