Emerging Technologies Track (ETT) at CASCON 2014
Call for Position Papers https://www-927.ibm.com/ibm/cas/cascon/positionPaper.jsp Goals Emerging technologies, such as low-cost sensing, wireless and mobile devices, social and cloud computing platforms, big data analytics, Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), Web of Things (WoT), and others fundamentally transform the information technology (IT) industry. The confluence and congruence of these technologies offer amazing opportunities for advancement and innovation. Major research efforts are under way to provide novel techniques to solve critical problems by applying emerging technologies in various domains, including health care, finance, commerce, and energy. The goals of this Emerging Technologies Track are: * To provide a forum for researchers and practitioners to share their visions, innovative ideas, and insights in the general area of software technology and applications. * To encourage the research collaboration and discussion, including early feedback and industrial validation. Scope The track addresses the same topics of interest as those of the technical research papers. We invite position papers to describe a well-defined idea at an early stage. As opposed to regular research papers, the submissions are not expected to have a solid and complete evaluation. The submissions should focus on innovative ideas or the emerging results, bringing the emerging technologies to solve real world problems and new research directions. Preliminary results providing initial support for the proposed ideas are welcome. Submission Guidelines Submission must be original, unpublished work of no more than four pages long in 2-column, 10-point font format. The templates can be found on the CASCON 2014 website. The papers must be submitted electronically as PDF files via Easychair Conference System https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=ettcascon2014. Accepted position papers will be included in the conference proceedings published by CASCON and archived in the ACM digital library.
