USID2014 – DESIGN FOR DEMOCRACY
CALL FOR PAPER As pre-conference event of USID2014 Conference USID Foundation is inviting Research Papers under “CALL FOR PAPERS” from the researchers, students, professionals, and academicians all across the world on the following areas related to the conference theme of USID2014 “Design for Democracy”: Role of Design Thinking and Design Tools in increasing civic participation in democratic processes. Design Thinking and Design Tools to evoke the power and importance of participation of citizens in the democratic system and also in governance and policymaking. Role of design to enable effective, transparent and innovative governance to bring quality change in life of the citizens of the country. Design as a tool to enable for successful electioneering process and support system including awareness on political system, detailed candidate information (social, economical, criminal etc.) contesting elections to enable people making informed decisions, Tools for transparency and successful execution of voting process. Design a a tool for increasing civic participation by making interactions between the Governments and its citizens more understandable, efficient and trustworthy. Design enabling awareness about importance of participation of citizens in the democratic system and also in governance and policymaking. Role of design in enabling the technologies to bridging the gap and bringing transparency across the different stakeholders and support the overall democratic system. Design enables tools for enhancing free speech and expression for the betterment of the democracy? Design enabling Innovations in Participatory Governance. Any other relevant topic The papers will be reviewed by a panel of expert professionals, both from industry and academia, which is under formation. The papers will be selected for presentation during the USID2014 conference and also for publication in the USID2014 conference proceedings. GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION All submissions must be in English and must include a title and author information, including author affiliations. Faxed submissions are not acceptable. Late submissions will not be reviewed. The written paper should include a short abstract, keywords, body, and references (For more details, please see the USID2012 Conference Publication Format ). Submissions must not contain proprietary or confidential material and should not cite proprietary or confidential publications. All submissions must be in the camera-ready format (PDF). Due to tight publication schedules, revisions will not be possible. The submitted PDF version will be considered the final version of the paper. We recommend that you register using an e-mail address for communication between the review panel and the individuals.
