Call For Papers

Nowadays, the field of visual information analysis becomes active more than ever because of the large availability of visual content in both personal and professional contexts. The targeted applications are numerous as for instance the medical imaging, security, manufacturing, etc. Algorithms are often expected to be computationally plausible, feasible and reliable. However, in the recent years, perception became an important aspect when developing imaging solutions. It has been proved that the incorporation of perceptual models helps in achieving better results. To this end, several perceptually inspired models have been proposed for visual saliency prediction, visual masking, contrast sensitivity, binocular fusion, to cite a few of them.

This special session organized under the flagship of IPTA 2015, aims at providing the most recent developments in the field of visual information analysis using perceptually driven or inspired algorithms. The topics of this special session are oriented towards the use of perceptual models/optimization in the framework of (not limited to):

Image and video compression

3D scene reconstruction and understanding

Quality assessment and enhancement

Image and video retrieval

Segmentation and pattern recognition

Multimedia content transmission

Computational color imaging

Prospective authors are encouraged to submit their unpublished work by providing a paper including results, figures and references following the rules of IPTA’2015.

Important dates:

Submission deadline May 29th, 2015

Notification of acceptance June 15th, 2015

Final Paper Submission June 30th, 2015
