Call For Papers

Transdisciplinary knowledge is critical to the transformation into a knowledge society that generates, processes, shares and makes available to all members of the society innovative knowledge that may be used to improve the human condition. To succeed, the future knowledge society also needs a new kind of leadership that always thinks for others to help changing the society from a highly competitive one to that of a more accommodating one.

The TransLS Symposium is an annual forum among international leaders, researchers and educators from all disciplines to address issues related to, and technologies that may enable, transdisciplinarity, leadership, and society. The general topics addressed by TransLS include, but are not limited to:
- How can technology help to realize TransLS?
- What do industries and society need from us?
- Can we be making better use of theory (both established and cutting edge)?
- How has the lived experience over the past 10 years, and how might it continue to evolve as we look toward the next decade?
- How TransLS may help people in underdeveloped communities, countries and regions?
- What are the key unanswered substantive questions about TLS that we need to address over the next decade?

Each year a specific topic is chosen by the attendees from the previous year and the forum is organized as a round table. The discussions are recorded and a committee is formed to publish the result for real impacts. The topic for TransLS 2017 is: Challenges in Software Engineering.

The symposium also invites sponsorships and delegates from educational institutions to join the forum.

PARTICIPATION
The symposium does not publish proceedings. It is organized as a round table and the discussions are recorded. A committee will be formed among the participants to publish the results after the symposium. Interested participants please submit a brief bio to transls@uci.edu to receive an invitation.
