Summer school "Methodology of task design - How to construct exercises for learning" 22. - 27. 9. 2014, Technische Universität Dresden, Dresden, Germany. http://www.mn-summerschool2014.math.tu-dresden.de/ Deadline for paper submission 23. 6. 2014 ============================================================================================== ----------- Aims ----------- Exercises are employed in various areas of teaching and learning as a proven and virtually indispensable means to improve learning success. Since constructing exercises is a complex task, huge, sometimes commercial, exercise repositories exist. However, in order to purposefully select exercises, the need arises to evaluate their quality. In some disciplines, specific contributions to a methodology of task design already exist. However, until now these individual contributions were exchanged between disciplines in only a rudimentary way. So far neither a joint advancement of psychological insights into task design nor an analysis of the effects of exercise processing through formal methods for representing knowledge structures is existent. The summer school aims to bring these approaches together in such a way that a methodology of task design is developed, discussed and documented. To do this, psychological, psychometric and mathematical competences shall be brought together and presented. ------------------------------- Confirmed keynote speakers ------------------------------- - Prof. Dr. Dietrich Albert (TU Graz & University of Graz, Austria) - Prof. Dr. Jean-Paul Doignon (Université Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium) - Prof. Dr. Mark J.
