Objective and Motivation
As computing power is dropping in price and new sensors are being developed the world of Internet of Things is ever growing in an unprecedented pace. Sensors are getting smaller in size and are being incorporated in all sorts of everyday objects measuring several parameters, producing heaps of data while at the same time create opportunities for data-centric businesses to spawn. The Ambient Assisted Living domain offers the perfect setup for IoT-based technologies since it touches on the very important social issue of the age-ing population while offering the ability to really test telecare services for home-based setups. We are seeking original, high quality, high impact research papers on all topics that fall in the combination of AAL and IoT. Papers will be selected on the basis of novelty, technical merit, presentation and impact. Scope and Interests (not exhaustive, not limiting) Mobile and Cloud Computing in pervasive healthcare IoT Analytics Interface and Control Systems AAL Environments for chronic disease management Usability and Acceptability Context Aware Technologies Wearable technologies for health and wellness monitoring Security, privacy and trust Navigation systems (indoors, outdoors) and location based services Networking for/and embedded systems Technologies to support AAL Interactive Services Paper Submission The submissions should contain original, high quality, not submitted or published elsewhere work. Papers should be submitted electronically (through Medicon 2016 web site) in PDF format and should conform to IFMBE Proceedings template (single-spaced, double-column, 10-point font size, 4 to 6 pages). Paper Presentation Each accepted paper should be presented by one of the authors and accompanied by at least one full registration fee payment, to guarantee publication in the proceedings. One full registration fee can cover up to 2 papers only. All accepted papers will be included in the IFMBE proceedings of Medicon 2016 that will be published by Springer.
