Overview

Fibre-reinforced composite materials (FRPs) are more prominent in the transport sector than first meets the eye with the use of carbon, glass and more recently natural fibre composites being used in a whole manner of applications. These materials offer a high strength-to-weight ratio in an industry where lightweighting is key – reducing energy consumption and the ability to increase both passenger and freight weight.

Aim

This event will look at key innovations in using FRPs in mass transport applications and the challenges that are still to be addressed.

Call for papers

Abstracts are sought on the above topics relating to mass transport applications. Interested parties should send a 250 word abstract to events@netcomposites.com no later than Friday 6th June 2014. Abstracts on other related topics will be considered.
