Call For Papers
The International Conference on Science in Society provides an interdisciplinary forum for the discussion of the past, present and future of the sciences. The conference is situated in a time of significant change in public and professional understandings of the relations between science and society, and we are currently inviting proposals for presentations that explore this relationship. Contributions range from broad theoretical, philosophical and policy explorations, to detailed case studies of particular intellectual and practical activities at the intersection of science and society. Topic areas are intentionally broad to encourage a range of backgrounds, ideas, and discussions. Proposed abstracts should address the intersection of science and society through one of the following themes: * The Values and Politics of Science * The Social Impacts and Economics of Science * The Knowledge Systems and Pedagogies of Science Proposals are accepted and reviewed in monthly rounds. For current deadlines, themes, instructions on proposal submission and registration, please visit our website: http://science-society.com/the-conference-2014/ Virtual participation is available for those who are unable to attend the conference in person. Proposals for virtual presentations may be submitted at any time, up to the start of the conference. All conference registrants (in-person and virtual) may also submit their written papers for publication in the refereed International Journal of Science in Society. |
