Special Issue on “IoV: Internet of Vehicle”
Internet of Vehicle (IoV) technology is referred to as dynamic mobile communication systems that can communicate between vehicles and public networks using Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V), Vehicle-to-Road (V2R), Vehicle-to-Human (V2H) and Vehicle-to-Sensor (V2S) interactions. With the noticeable advance of wireless communications and the penetration of broadband Internet access, it is predicted that more than 75% of vehicles sold worldwide in 2020 will be connected, either by embedded, tethered or smart-phone integration. IoV is no longer a futuristic promise but rather an attainable technology to improve road safety, and provide in-car entertainment and on-board Internet services, such as, online media streaming, social networking, real-time traffic report acquisition and online navigation. With the active development of “Internet +”, “5G”, “cloud computing” and “big data”, there are many unprecedented challenges and opportunities to realize IoV, including “information processing”, “mobile communication”, “storage”, “security”, and “privacy protection”, etc. This special issue is seeking original contributions on IoV, sharing the research efforts and research challenges in this area, and discussing new ideas, methods, theories, key enabling techniques, and applications for IoV. The topics of interest include, but are not limited to the following: IoV architectures and services Vehicular system and communication technologies for IoV Access technologies in heterogeneous networks for IoV Network resource optimization and QoS guarantee for IoV Big data technologies for IoV IoV data processing algorithms and protocols Data storage technologies for IoV Security, privacy and trust in IoV Cloud computing technologies for IoV Vehicle network terminal technologies Novel vehicular applications for IoV Authors please check the website http://www.jcin.com.cn/ for submission instructions.
