This special session deals with the topic of Prognostics and Health Management (PHM). PHM aims at developing methods and algorithms that help practitioners to continuously monitor and assess the health state of their systems. The collected information is then used to detect, diagnose and anticipate faults and take appropriate decisions to maintain the system in its operational conditions. In practice, PHM allows practitioners to move from traditional maintenances, such as corrective and scheduled maintenances, to smart ones such condition-based maintenance and predictive maintenance. The implementation of these smart maintenances allows improving the availability, the reliability and the security of production assets, while reducing their life cycle cost. Contrary to fault diagnostics which is a mature research domain, well developed and spread within the academic and industrial communities, failure prognostics, or more generally PHM, is a relatively new research topic. Nevertheless, the increasing interest accorded during the last decade to failure prognostics has led to numerous methods, tools and applications. The goal of this session is to provide the researchers as well as the industrials the opportunity to present, discuss and share the recent developments in the PHM domain, and also to identify new challenges to address in the future. The topics of interest include, but are not limited to: • Fault detection, fault diagnostics. • Fault prognostics. • Degradation modelling, health assessment and Remaining Useful Life estimation. • Prognostic performance metrics. • Condition Based Maintenance, • Predictive Maintenance. • Decision support for asset health management. • Case studies on prognostics and health management. SUBMISSION Please submit your full paper choosing the right Special Session (02-Special Session: Prognostics and Health Management) on the EasyChair for CoDIT'17 website: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=codit17 All papers must be written in English and should describe original work. The length of the paper is limited to a maximum of 6 pages (in the standard IEEE conference double column format). |
