The 6th International Conference on Positioning Technology (Mechatronics and Measurement in Precision Technology) ICPT 2014
November 18-21, 2014 Kitakyushu International Conference Center, Fukuoka, Japan Sponsored by Japan Society for Precision Engineering (JSPE) (Technical Committee of Ultra Precision Positioning, JSPE) Co-sponsored by National Kaohsiung First University of Science and Technology (First Tech) Korea Institute of Machinery and Materials (KIMM) Participating Society Chinese Institute of Automation Engineers (CIAE) Chinese Automatic Control Society (CACS) Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan (IEEJ) Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers (JSME) Korean Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) Korean Society of Precision Engineering (KSPE) Society of Instrument and Control Engineers (SICE) Taiwan Fuzzy Systems Association (TFSA) ICPT2014 aims to provide an atmosphere for researchers and engineers to discuss, exchange and expose ideas, methods and results in conventional, contemporary and future topics of mechatronics and measurement in precision technology. Following the 1st ICPT at Hamamatsu, Japan, in 2004, the ICPT has been bringing together people working in the field of precision positioning and related technologies at: Jeju-do, Korea (2006), Hamamatsu, Japan (2008), Busan, Korea (2010), and Kaohsiung City, Taiwan (2012). We are honored to host the ICPT2014 at Kitakyushu, Fukuoka prefecture, Japan. Located at the northern coast of Kyushu island of Japan, the city of Kitakyushu, in Fukuoka prefecture, is the second largest city in Kyushu island with about a million population. Historically this region has played an important role as a transportation/information hub to connect Asian countries and Japan. The distance from Kitakyushu city to Dalian and Shanghai, China, or Taipei, Taiwan, is about the same as that to Tokyo, Japan. Busan, Korea, is just 200 km away from Kitakyushu. As well as its industrial side, the Kyushu region is also renowned by its beautiful nature. An optional tour(s) to factories or companies related to precision technologies in the Kitakyushu region will be planned. The conference venue, Kitakyushu International Conference Center, is located just five minutes away by walk from JR Kokura station. It takes about 5 hours from Tokyo to Kokura, about 2 hours from Osaka, by the Shinkansen bullet train. Kitakyushu airport is located about 40 minutes away by bus from Kokura station. Fukuoka airport is located at the city of Fukuoka. Topics The conference focuses on the followings, but are not limited to: • Actuators • Mechatronics • Assembly • Nanotechnology • Applications • Positioning Design • Control methods • Positioning system • Case studies • Positioning components • Data processing • Sensors and measurement • Materials and Mechanism Instruments • Modeling • Simulation Language English is the official language of the conference for all presentations and correspondence. Abstract and Paper Submission Authors should submit a high quality copies of an abstract including the following: a) the title of a paper, b) author name(s) and affiliation(s), c) the corresponding author's name and title, d) his/her postal address, phone number, fax number and e-mail address, e) a 300-word abstract including brief backgrounds, objectives, methods and results, f) several keywords, and g) a presentation type (oral or poster). The inclusion of figures in the abstract is not recommended. Papers, which have been published in another form elsewhere in either English or any other languages, are also welcome if they are reconstructed from new aspects. The program committee will evaluate your proposals. Due to limited speaker slots, some papers may be accepted as poster presentations. All abstracts accepted will require one or more of the authors to attend the conference for the presentation. Conference website: http://icpt2014.jspe.or.jp/ Important Dates • The deadline of the abstracts is May 31, 2014. • Acceptance letters and author's kits for a camera-ready manuscript will be sent by August 25, 2014. • Early registration deadline, September 15, 2014. • Final camera-ready manuscripts for accepted papers must be sent by September 25, 2014. Publication The camera-ready manuscript should be in 2 to 6 pages. They will be published in the conference proceedings. Selected papers will be considered for the publication in a journal of Japan Society for Precision Engineering based on the usual review process. The program committee does not prevent authors from submitting to International Journal of Automation Technology, Compendex (EI), Scopus. Abstract and camera-ready manuscript must be sent by e-mail to: Chair of Program Committee Prof. Kenji Kawashima Institute of Biomaterials and Bioengineering, Tokyo Medical and Dental University E-mail: icpt.bmc@tmd.ac.jp Schedule November 18: Welcome reception November 19: Conference meeting and banquet November 20: Conference meeting November 21: Factory tour Participation Fee For registration earlier than Sep. 15, 2014, the participation fee is 25,000 Japanese Yen (JPY) for regular participants. This includes the registration, proceedings, and the banquet. For students, the participation fee is JPY 5,000 (banquet is not included).
