Call For Papers

Reversible data hiding (RDH) is an effective technique that can reversibly embed secret information into cover data. The property of reversibility means that the original form of the cover data, before the secret bits were embedded, can be recovered completely after the embedded bits are extracted. RDH can be used for forensic, medical, and military applications, which do not allow any modification in the digital representation of the cover data due to the risk of misinterpretations. In the past few years, many types of RDH schemes, such as difference expansion (DE), histogram shifting (HS), and prediction errors (PE) have been developed for both uncompressed and compressed cover data. Meanwhile, the performance evaluations for RDH, i.e., the hiding capacity and the quality of stego data, are widely also investigated. Some applications, especially in digital forensics, are very interesting and promising.
The objective of this special issue is to gather high quality research efforts that address the challenges of the emerging area of RDH for digital forensics with a view to provide the readers with an overview of the state of the art in this field.

Possible topics for papers submitted to this special issue include, but are not limited to:

• Fundamental theories of reversible data hiding
• Reversible data hiding in text, audio, image and video for digital forensics
• Reversible data hiding in compressed domain for digital forensics
• Robust reversible data hiding for digital forensics
• Applications of reversible data hiding for digital forensics

IMPORTANT DATES
• Paper submission deadline: 01 May 2014
• Completion of the reviews: 01 Jun 2014
• Camera Ready for publishing: 01 Aug 2014
• Publication of the special issue: 01 Dec 2014
