AIMS AND SCOPE
The 8th edition of the conference aims to bring together scientists, engineers, manufacturers and users from all over the world to discuss common theoretical and practical problems, describe scientific and commercial applications and explore avenues for future research in the area of Electrical and Power Engineering. A favorable atmosphere will allow participants to develop ideas and gain new research perspectives. The conference also includes, besides technical sessions and tutorials, an exhibition where manufacturers, distributors and all other companies, institutions or organizations involved in electrical and power engineering have the opportunity to show their last achievements in the field. SPONSORS: EPE 2014 is technically sponsored by IEEE through IEEE Romanian Section SUBMISSION We invite the submission of original research papers and posters, panel discussions, creative technology demonstrations and workshop proposals that address all aspects of Electrical and Power Engineering. Submissions must not be published or under review for another conference or journal. Selected papers from the conference will be revised for publication in special issues of recognized journals. Journals under consideration for EPE 2014 include the Bulletin of the Polytechnic Institute of Iasi – Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Electronics section or for papers relevant to its topics, the Environment Engineering and Management Journal (an ISI journal). WORKSHOPS A number of workshops and tutorials will be organized in parallel with the conference. The International Workshop on Electromagnetic Compatibility and Engineering in Medicine and Biology marks its 3rd edition. The participants in the conference are also invited to propose other workshops by June 30, 2014. CONFERENCE LOCATION Iaşi is a picturesque city with a rich cultural and architectural history. Iaşi is situated in the North-East of Romania (400km from Bucharest), in an area of great natural beauty and places of historical interest. In the second half of the 16th century, the city of Iaşi became the capital of Moldavia, a province, which, together with Wallachia and Transylvania, would later form the Romanian national state. Today, the city is home to over 60,000 students, enrolled in five state and three private universities and is the place of new and innovative industries. In November 1910, the School of Industrial Electricity was created within the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Iaşi. The school was the first of this kind in the country and beginning with 1938 it turned into the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, which is today one of the 11 faculties of the "Gheorghe Asachi" Technical University of Iaşi. Nowadays over 1500 students are learning in our institution. |
