Call For Papers | |||||||||||||||||
The Eurographics Symposium on Geometry Processing (SGP) is the premier venue for disseminating new research ideas and cutting-edge results in geometry processing. In this research area, concepts from mathematics, computer science, and engineering are studied and applied to offer new insights and design efficient algorithms for acquisition, modeling, analysis, manipulation, simulation and other types of processing of 3D models and shape collections.
In 2016, SGP will be held in Berlin, Germany, from June 20th to 24th. It will be co-located with Shape Modeling International (SMI) and the Symposium on Solid & Physical Modeling (SPM) as part of the Geometry Summit 2016. To continue a successful tradition created in the past few years, the summit will offer a graduate school on June 18th and 19th specifically targeted towards graduate students. Courses will be taught by leading experts in the field and complemented by interactive demonstrations to provide an in-depth knowledge of some of the most important aspects of geometry processing. Topics We invite submissions related to, but not limited to, the following topics: Acquisition and reconstruction Analysis and fabrication for 3D printing Architectural geometry Discrete differential geometry Exploration and learning of shape collections Geometry and topology representations Geometry compression Geometry processing applications Interactive techniques Meshing and remeshing Multiresolution modelling Multimodal shape processing Processing of massive geometric datasets Shape analysis and synthesis Simulation and animation Smoothing and denoising Surface and volume parameterization and deformation Timeline All deadlines are at 23:59 UTC/GMT. Abstract submissions (paper bidding based on abstracts)April 4, 2016 Full paper submissionsApril 8, 2016 Notification of acceptanceMay 16, 2016 Revised version dueMay 23, 2016 Camera-ready copy dueMay 30, 2016 The SGP proceedings will appear as a regular electronic issue of Computer Graphics Forum, the International Journal of the EUROGRAPHICS Association. In addition, SGP will have a joint poster session with SMI and SPM and will accept proposals for posters in the form of abstracts. Software Award To encourage the distribution of high quality software in geometry processing, since 2011 an annual award has been given for freely available software related to or useful for geometry processing. Please send nominations and applications for the software award to chairs-sgp2016 (at) eg.org. Dataset Award This year we will introduce a new award, aimed to encourage and recognise the importance of the distribution of high-quality datasets on which geometry processing algorithms are tested. We will accept nominations both for existing, well-established datasets and for new benchmarks and geometric data collections. More information can be found on the Submissions page. Please send nominations and applications for the dataset award to chairs-sgp2016 (at) eg.org. Reproducibility Stamp This year we will introduce an additional recognition for accepted papers that will be awarded to authors who are willing to go one step further, and in addition to publishing the paper, provide a complete open-source implementation of their algorithm. The reproducibility stamp does not affect the reviewing process or the requirements for your submission to be accepted. The awarded papers will receive additional exposure by being listed on the EG website, they will receive an additional 5 to 10 minutes in their presentation to give a live demo, if they would like. They will also be recognized during the SGP closing ceremony. |
