6th International Conference on e-Infrastructure and e-Services for Developing Countries
AFRICOMM 2014 Kampala, Uganda November 24–26, 2014 http://africommconference.org CALL FOR PAPERS [SCOPE] Deploying efficient and effective infrastructures and solutions when limited resources are available is a challenging task and a key-enabler for the diffusion of ICT in developing countries. The aim of this conference is bringing together international researchers, students, public officers, policy makers and practitioners in ICT to discuss issues and trends, recent research, innovation advances and on-the-field experiences related to e-Governance, e-Infrastructure, and e-Business with a focus on developing countries. AFRICOMM 2014, the sixth conference of the series, is organized into three Tracks, two of them organized as Research Tracks and one as Policy & Governance Track. The Research Tracks will consist of presentations of research findings in defined themes proposed for the conference. [SUBMISSION TYPES] Submitted papers will be peer-reviewed scientific Research papers (no more than 10 pages) and Student papers (no more than 5 pages), which will be published by ACM DL “pending”. Policy Track, on the other hand, will be based on panel discussions, which will be selected from 2-page extended abstracts. AFRICOMM offers 4 opportunities of paper submission: - Research papers: no more than 10 pages of original work; - Student papers: no more than 5 pages of student/ongoing work; - Extended abstracts: no more than 2 pages of discussion; - Posters: no more than 2 pages of work-in-progress description Contributions should be submitted electronically as PDF in EasyChair, submitted papers must be formatted according to the ACM conference proceedings format. Only PDF files will be accepted. Accepted student papers will be accompanied with Posters. Submission implies that at least one author will register and attend the conference if the paper is accepted. [PUBLICATION] All accepted contributions will be published by Springer-Verlag in the Lecture Notes of ICST (LNICST) and will be submitted to the major indexing services (e.g.Google Scholar, ISI, EICompendex, Scopus), as well as in EAI's own EU Digital Library (EUDL) in Open Access format. Selected papers may be invited to publish in the EAI Endorsed Transactions on on e-Busineess [TOPICS] AFRICOMM'2014 solicits high-quality papers reporting research results and/or experimental results on e-Infrastructures and e-Services for developing countries. Submissions will be judged on their originality, significance, clarity, relevance, and technical correctness. We are soliciting workshop proposals on any topic of relevance to the conference. Workshops are a great opportunity for community building and a forum for attendees with common interests. Accepted workshop papers are included in the adjunct proceedings of the Africomm Conference published by Springer-Verlag in the Lecture Notes of ICST (LNICST) Submitting Your Proposal Please email your proposal directly to the workshop chairs at workshops@africommconference.org. The deadline for submission is 30 April, 2014. The submission should be a single PDF file, including both the proposal (max. 4 pages) and an appended CFP.
