Call For Papers | |||||||||||||||
BIOSTEC 2012 (5th International Joint Conference on Biomedical Engineering Systems and Technologies - http://www.biostec.org/) has an open call for papers, whose deadline is set for July 25, 2011. We hope you can participate in this conference by submitting a paper reflecting your current research.
BIOSTEC 2012 will be sponsored by the Institute for Systems and Technologies of Information, Control and Communication (INSTICC) in cooperation with the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI) and technically co-sponsored by the European Society for Engineering and Medicine (ESEM), Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES), IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (IEEE EMBS) and IEEE Portugal EMBS Chapter. INSTICC is member of the Workflow Management Coalition (WfMC). This meeting will take place yearly, bringing together top researchers and practitioners in several areas of Biomedical Engineering, especially those related to Information and Communication Technologies. The four main topic areas have been defined as concurrent and co-located sub-conferences of BIOSTEC, namely: - Biomedical Electronics and Devices (http://www.biodevices.biostec.org) - Bioinformatics Models, Methods and Algorithms (http://www.bioinformatics.biostec.org) - Bio-inspired Systems and Signal Processing (http://www.biosignals.biostec.org) - Health Informatics (http://www.healthinf.biostec.org) BIOSTEC 2012 will be held in Vilamoura - Algarve, Portugal on 1-4 of February, 2012. BIOSTEC is interested in promoting high quality research as it can be confirmed by last year acceptance rates, where from 538 submissions, 9% were accepted as full papers. Additionally, 29% were presented as short papers and 22% as posters. Submitted papers will be subject to a double-blind review process. All accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings, under an ISBN reference, on paper and CD-ROM support. EJQQ The proceedings will be submitted for indexation by major international indexers, including Thomson Reuters Conference Proceedings Citation Index (ISI), INSPEC, DBLP and Elsevier Index (EI). Additionally, a short list of high quality papers presented at the conference will be selected so that revised and extended versions of these papers will be published by Springer-Verlag in the Communications in Computer and Information Science Series (CCIS). Best paper awards will be distributed during the conference closing session. All papers presented at the conference venue will be available at the SciTePress Digital Library (http://www.scitepress.org/DigitalLibrary/). SciTePress is member of CrossRef (http://www.crossref.org/). Workshops and special sessions are also invited. If you wish to propose a workshop or a special session, for example based on the results of a specific research project, please contact the secretariat. Workshop chairs and Special Session chairs will benefit from logistics support and other types of support, including secretariat and financial support, to facilitate the development of a valid idea. Don't hesitate to contact us should you have any questions. Kind regards, Vera Coelho BIOSTEC Secretariat Av. D.
