********************************************************************* Call For Participation 5th Atlantic Workshop on Semantics and Services (AWoSS 2014) Trade and Convention Centre 1 Market Square Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada February 24, 2014 ********************************************************************* The 5th Atlantic Workshop on Semantics and Services is co-located with 2014 T4G Big Data Congress, which will take place in Saint John, New Brunswick. AWoSS 2014 will include a technical program consisting of presentations of research papers and invited talk describing the state of the art in Semantic Web and Services research. AWoSS 2014 invites researches and practitioners of Semantic Web and Services to submit abstracts for presentations and participate at the workshop. The main theme of AWoSS 2014 is applications of Semantic Web and Services to Big Data. Workshop Objectives AWoSS brings researches and practitioners from Atlantic Provinces to exchange ideas and best practices in (Web) semantics and services, with focus on their applications to Big Data. AWoSS provides an excellent platform to demonstrate semantic web and services applications/prototypes, especially on Big Data. AWoSS invites industry to demonstrate their experiences in developing semantic web and services based R&D projects and products. AWoSS particularly encourages students to present their research work so that they can get feedback from larger Semantic Web and services community. AWoSS aims to foster an Atlantic community of Semantic Web and Services scholars and practitioners, with the aim to establish research collaborations between AWoSS participants. Workshop Scope AWoSS 2014 invites the submission of 1-page abstract describing research work in the are of Semantic Web and services. The research work will be presented as (a) oral presentation and (b) poster. The workshop will feature research and development covering Semantic Web and Services. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: Big Data on the Semantic Web Knowledge Representation and Reasoning Ontologies - Engineering, Management, Mapping, Evolution Rule-based Systems Semantic Big Data Semantic Data Management
 Semantic Web Technologies Semantic Web Applications (science, health, government, society, etc...) Service Computing Service-oriented Architectures Triple Stores AWoSS 2014 particularly welcomes abstracts and presentations on the above and other semantics related topics with linkage to their applications to Big Data. During the Workshop, participants will present and discuss their work. The discussion sessions will provide an avenue to exchange ideas and establish collaborations. All workshop participants will also have the opportunity to attend sessions and events of the 2014 T4G Big Data Congress.
