Picture How to submit Picture All papers, session proposals and workshop proposals must be submitted electronically through the PaperCept Conference Management System. Authors are advised to read PaperCept’s Getting Started Manual for Authors and the ECC14 PDF Compliance Guidelines carefully. Only PDF files will be accepted. Format Requirements Picture Templates MS Word LaTex Style File Format requirements Language: English Paper Length: 6 pages (8 pages for review purposes only) Paper Size: A4 File Format: Maximum File Size: 2 MB Submission deadlines Picture October 07, 2013 Submission deadline for contributed papers, invited session proposals, invited papers, and pre-conference workshops March 03, 2014 Acceptance/rejection decisions April 28, 2014 Final paper submissions Contributed Papers Picture Papers are invited in the form of regular manuscripts (6 proceedings pages). Papers must be submitted through the PaperCept Conference Management System and must be formatted in accordance with the submission policy. For the purpose of review only, manuscripts up to eight (8) pages long in the standard two-column ECC conference format will be considered. If accepted, final manuscripts are limited to six (6) pages. Accepted papers exceeding the normal length may be included in the proceedings upon payment of over-length page charges for each page in excess of six pages, up to a maximum of two additional pages. Invited Session Proposals Picture Proposals are invited from participants wishing to organize invited sessions. An invited session comprises six thematically coherent papers. The session should provide “added value” over the individual papers, focusing for example on emerging challenges, or diverse views on established problems that one would not normally find together in a contributed paper session. Proposals for invited sessions must be submitted through the PaperCept Conference Management System. They are limited to six (6) pages in the standard two-column ECC conference format and should contain a summary describing the motivation and relevance of the proposed session, as well as an overview of the individual papers and how they fit in the theme. The invited session proposal should be submitted before the invited papers of the session. Upon submission of the proposal the session organizer will receive a session code, which they should communicate to the authors of the invited papers to use when submitting their contributions. We advise invited session organizers to submit their proposals at least one week before the conference deadline to allow enough time for invited paper authors to submit their contributions. Invited Papers Picture The six invited session papers must be submitted separately by their authors using the session code provided by the invited session organizer. Invited papers will undergo a review process similar to that of contributed papers. They should therefore be of comparable quality and should abide by the same formatting and other rules; in particular brief abstract/extended abstract type contributions will most likely be rejected. Invited papers must be submitted through the PaperCept Conference Management System and must be formatted in accordance with the submission policy. In case an invited session is accepted but some of its constituent papers are rejected, the Program Committee reserves the right to replace the rejected invited papers with compatible contributed papers. Conversely, accepted invited papers from a rejected invited session will be included in contributed paper sessions. Pre-Conference Workshops Picture Conference participants can attend pre-conference workshops for an additional fee. Interested instructors should submit a brief proposal through the PaperCept Conference Management System. For the sake of uniformity the proposal should be formatted according to the guidelines for invited session proposals and should not exceed 6 pages in length. Proposals should include the workshop title, list of instructors and their affiliations, an overview of the workshop, motivation and intended audience of the workshop, and brief bios of the instructors. The proposal should also clarify whether the workshop will be half day (8:30-12:30), or full day (8:30-5:30). The Program Committee reserves the right to reject workshop proposals (based on content), or to cancel accepted workshops (due to low numbers of pre-registrations). In the event of a cancellation, the workshop fees will be refunded in full. |
