Call For Papers | |||||||||||||||
The aim of this symposium is to provide a forum for researchers and technologists to present new ideas and contributions in the form of technical papers, panel discussions as well as real-world evaluation of many ideas in wireless communications, networking and signal processing employed to support the needs of the Information Society. This eleventh symposium will bring together various wireless communication systems developers to discuss the current status, technical challenges, standards, fundamental issues, and future services and applications. ISWCS’14 seeks to address and capture highly-innovative and state-of-the-art research from academia, the wireless industry as well as standardization advances. The scope of the conference includes a wide range of technical challenges encompassing wireless communications, information theory, quality of service support, networking, signal processing, cross-layer design for improved performance, and future wireless broadband systems. The topics of interest include but are not limited to the following:
Track 1: Communication theory, signal processing, information theory, antennas and propagation * Multiuser, network, massive and distributed MIMO systems * Spread spectrum systems: UWB, CDMA * Advanced Multicarrier waveforms: beyond OFDM and filterbank-based schemes * Precoding, scheduling, limited feedback * Information theory * Green communications and energy efficiency * Space-time coding and adaptive array processing * Equalization, synchronization, channel estimation * Error control coding including turbo codes, LDPC and iterative decoding * Detection and estimation algorithms * Adaptive modulation and coding * Cooperative communications and relaying * Network coding * Performance analysis * Cross-layer air interface design * Wireless access and transmission techniques * Resource allocation * Satellite and high altitude platforms * Antennas and propagation * Multimedia systems * Localization techniques * Future PMR/PPDR broadband systems and concepts for 5G * Physical layer security Track 2: Networking, protocols, cognitive radio, wireless sensor networks, services and applications * Cognitive radio networking * Green networking * Mobile Internet * Heterogeneous networking * MANETs * Vehicular Networks (VANETs) * Wireless sensor networks * Machine-to-machine communications * MAC protocols * Self-organisation * Radio resource management and interference control * Wireless routing techniques * Mobility management * End-to-End QoS and QoS provisioning * Traffic control and engineering * Wireless privacy and security * Multimedia systems * Innovative services and applications * Implementation concepts and testbeds * Homeland security and military communications * Device-to-Device (D2D) Communication * ICT applications in smart cities and smart grid Track 3: Special sessions Paper Submission Guidelines – Acceptance will be based on an extended abstract or a full paper (5 pages). In case of an extended abstract submission, diagrams, results, and bibliography have to be provided to allow the reviewers to assess the contribution of your work. All accepted and registered papers included in the final programme will appear in the IEEE Xplore database. In addition to the paper submission, an abstract (approx. 150 words) shall be submitted. The submission has to be performed electronically via EDAS paper management system, this will be possible starting from January 2014. Detailed submission instructions can be found at Initial Submission. Special Sessions – Proposals for special sessions should provide a 250 word summary plus the details of the invited papers. Special sessions submissions should be made via email ( ss@iswcs2014.org) to Special Session Chairs: Chistian Ibars (Intel, USA), Aawatif Hayar (GreenTic/ENSEM, Morocco), and Youssef Nasser (American Univ. of Beirut, Lebanon) by February 21st, 2014. Tutorials – Proposals for tutorials should consist of a 1000 word summary plus a 150 word abstract with a cover page listing the details of the author(s). Tutorial submissions should be made via email ( tut@iswcs2014.org) Mischa Dohler by April 14th, 2014.
