--The 16th International Conference on Informatics and Semiotics in Organisations (ICISO 2015), similar to other events in the conference series, devotes to the latest research in informatics and organisational semiotics. The aim of this conference is to provide a focal forum for participants from various domains of information management and information systems, computational science, semiotics, finance and accounting, business and enterprise, service science, and business and engineering. One of the important emphases in this 16th conference will be information and knowledge management complex systems, such as large scale projects, network of networks, and dynamic and evolving enterprise.
(See www.orgsem.org for earlier conferences since 1995).

--Conference Scope and Objectives
Effective information and knowledge management through the entire lifetime of a complex system such as a space project or a network of networks is critically important. Some systems such as space projects are transient and dynamic, with clearly defined stages and involving different players at these stages. Consistency, coherence and continuity in information and knowledge management are the key to success. However, an adoption of information and knowledge management is often hindered right from the beginning by the challenges and resultant sometimes deficiencies in understanding the complex system itself, and related requirements for information and knowledge management.

Between stating the broad objectives and defining precisely the means of satisfying them with a clear plan of action, the project requires contribution from a growing and changing community of players that must also develop trusting relationships and be able to share information and knowledge, even while working on designs and plans that often introduce creative but possibly conflicting ideas. Such a situation is not the prerogative of the space projects, other projects and dynamic systems such as nuclear research and product innovation for instance, also share these characteristics.

Information is an important resource for any organisation, whether it is large or small, service or production industry. To understand the nature of information and how it can be effectively managed and used in organisations is highly relevant. Following the early events in the series, the key theme of this conference will be on information, and management in complex organizations such as spaces industries and organization. Particular interest will be placed in exploring and understanding from both theoretical and empirical perspectives on how information enables an organisation to sustain and, furthermore, to leverage innovation and competitiveness. In both cases, the organizations will rely heavily on effective management and use of information.

Informatics is the study of information as resource, which helps a business organization, often through knowledge management, innovation, and service design, engineering and management. Organisational semiotics, as a discipline of study of sign, information and human communication in organised contexts, will provide a most appropriate approach to examine the issues of information management and utilization from a scholarly and practical perspective.

--Publication
The papers will be selected based on a double blind review by PC members. At least one author per accepted paper is required to register and attend the conference.
All accepted papers will be published by Springer as a volume of the series of IFIP Advances in Information and Communication Technology (IFIP AICT). The proceedings will be indexed by the following indexing services/databases:
ISI Proceedings
EI Compendex
SCOPUS
ZBL
DBLP

--Conference Venue
ICISO 2015 will be hosted by the CNES in Toulouse. The Centre National d’Etudes Spatiales (CNES) is the government agency responsible for shaping and implementing France’s space policy in Europe. CNES is a pivotal player in Europe’s space programme, and a major source of initiatives and proposals that aim to maintain France and Europe’s competitive edge. Toulouse Space Center is a key site for space research. It develops complete space systems with its partners in industry and the scientific community, right up to their entry into operational service.
