The 8th International Conference on Isotopes (www.8ici.org) is being held in Chicago, August 24-28, 2014. The conference is organized by the American Nuclear Society (www.ans.org)under the auspices of the World Council on Isotopes. The 8th ICI will assemble an international community of nuclear and medical physicists, radiochemists, engineers, material scientists, physicians, health physicists, and others for an interdisciplinary discussion of current and future research in the field of isotopes. Accepted papers will be presented orally or as poster at the meeting.
Arrangements have been made for special editions the "Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry" and the "Physics in Medicine and Biology" journal for authors wishing to publish full manuscripts of their presentation. We are privileged to have some extraordinary speakers for the 8th ICI: • Opening Plenary: “The Isotopes Story: From the Curies to Element 118” with Heino Nitsche, University of California-Berkeley and the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory • WCI President’s Forum: The Public Health Dilemma: Balancing Isotope Supply and Safety and Security: with Allison Macfarlane, Chairman, Nuclear Regulatory Commission and Ramzi Jammal, Executive Vice President, Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission, Chris Whipple, ENVIRON Principal, Chair NAS Committee on Medical Isotope Production without HEU. • The Marie Curie Plenary: Celebrating a Century of Women in Nuclear Science: with Janice Dunn-Lee, Deputy Director General, International Atomic Energy Agency, Jean-Louis Alberini, Director of Nuclear Medicine, Curie Institute of Paris, Darleane Hoffman, Professor Emerita, University of California, Berkeley, and other notable speakers. Please consider presenting your work at this conference. Sessions in the technical program are organized by track within five topic areas: Isotope Production and Devices Isotope Applications Isotopes in the Environment Isotope Production, Output Analytic Control and Quality Systems Secure Supplies and Safety For further information and requests for visas, please contact us at: contact@8ici.org |
