Call for abstracts: Features and Structures (FEAST)
The ICPR workshop on Features and Structures aims to provide an open, low threshold forum for discussing data consisting of an underlying structure associated with descriptive attributes, such as in natural language processing, medical imaging, computer vision, bioinformatics, chemoinformatics, social network analysis and others. *Invited speakers* Brijnesh Jain (TU Berlin) Luca Rossi (University of Birmingham) *Motivation and topics* The goal of the workshop is to spark discussion and interaction. Submission requires a 1-page PDF abstract, and we particularly encourage: -Previously published work -Preliminary results -Open-ended questions and problem formulations We welcome contributions including but not limited to: -combining structural and feature-based classifiers -multiple instance learning -structural kernels (graphs, trees, sequences, sets, etc) -distance-based methods -embedding and metricity -topological descriptors -structured output -large-scale graph analysis -structures in computational topology and bioinformatics -benchmark datasets -applications There will be a prize for the best poster / abstract! *Important dates* January 7, 2014 - Call for abstracts February 1, 2014 - Submission opens April 30, 2014 - Deadline for abstract submission round 1 May 15, 2014 - Notification of acceptance round 1 May 15, 2014 - Deadline for abstract submission round 2 May 30, 2014 - Notification of acceptance round 2 August 24, 2014 - Workshop in Stockholm, Sweden For more detailed submission instructions, please consult the FEAST website: https://sites.google.com/site/feast2014/ *Organizers* Veronika Cheplygina, Pattern Recognition Laboratory, Delft University of Technology Aasa Feragen, Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems, Tübingen / Department of Computer Science, University of Copenhagen Niklas Kasenburg, Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems, Tübingen / Department of Computer Science, University of Copenhagen Marco Loog, Pattern Recognition Laboratory, Delft University of Technology / Department of Computer Science, University of Copenhagen |
